Limp Mode on 3200 GT! I dont Believe this
Discussion
Ok guys - heres one !
Three weeks ago had a bill for just under £600 (if my memory serves me !)
and car is back for exactly 3.4 miles before suspension and actuator needs replacing ! total cost if not looked after by warranty would have been over £2,500 but I still receive a bill for £618.77 outside warranty.
I get in the car after she is back less than 15 minutes and then it decided to go into this "Limp" Mode! No Real Power and getting abuse of drivers (including one unhappy Tractor !)
How come the damn car works to and from dealership but upon my land she decides NOT to "Play Ball".
To Be honest Guys I am really getting sick of spending
out this money to see other people drive her to and from the Dealership.I know the car is not cheap to service otherwise I would have bought a Ford for example but it would be nice to actually get to drive her !
It would be nice to have the car for a couple of months trouble free. I actually avoided buying a TVR because of the potential Pitfalls but yet again my car is going back to dealer at £95 + vat ( collection fee) for no doubt another big bill.
I know this a rant but im Sick of this.

Mines back at the dealer today. Engine reving when stood still. It was scheduled work and I was told that i would have to wait a week or so if i needed a loan car. I have a MINI for my standard car. It broke down yesterday. Its only two weeks old
, they could not get a loan car to me till this morning. So i had to get a Taxi to work. Guy came to pick the Maser up and left a PUG. Which while not the cleanest of cars, i would have used it to get to work. After all i had a battered 205 years ago. No silver spoon in my mouth. Wife rang up dealer and was told the car was not suitable quality. She pointed out the second class driving is better than first class walking (Old yorkshire saying) along with a few angst words. We can now use the car. Not sure what the point is of this spiel , maybe just a vent on the farse that are dealers.
She (her indoors) is writing a complaint letter about the history of our car to the main man. She says what she likes and Me likes what she says. Things better get sorted or the car is going
. I may post the letter here just for others to read. After editing it for WMD's of course.
By the way, i have had 3 TVR's. I can say without a doubt that the dealers are no better and the cars deserve there rep. Still miss the Griff and loved the Cerber's when the boot was not full or water.

Sorry to hear of your troubles..........seems to me its all too familiar with Maserati's........thats why they will never be really popualar in the uk....hope you get it sorted soon, maybe a 512 TR or a 430 should be next............

The car is great, and pretty reliable for the type of car. It's bills are to be expected with this kind of car. Some of the cost/hassle are down to how a dealer does it's business. Like most cars, there variable build most good and some not so. My brand new MINI is back at the garage today.
Thats why it's really important to get the car checked out before you part with your cash. You only have to go onto other threads to see that there is nothing unusual about the reliability of cars in general. My other MINI never missed a beat in four years!
