Morning all

I am looking for some advice please, I have found a 1999 registered 355 GTS in TDF with tan leather that's covered 20,000 miles and I am very interested in buying it.

It has had three Ferrari services and one car specialist, my questions are, is only four services enough as its not been done every year and second what do you all think of this colour combination ?

Thanks in advance
Nick.

First service is usually at around 1k miles and is the free post-delivery one. Then you should have one at around 6,250, then 12,500 then 19,000.

If the car has only done 1,000 miles from one year to the next, then there is really no need for a service. It just needs to have been run a little every few weeks to make sure seals and the like don't dry up or crack.

Buying a 20k car, I would want the cambelt to have been changed within the last year. The official line is cambelts every 30k or three years, though most people tend to get them done sooner.

Colour is ok for the more conservative owners.

Hi m8.
The car should be serviced every year. In addition it needs new cambelts every 3 yrs. The belts on the '99 car shd have been done in '02 and the car needs another belt service now. Factor that into purchase price. Cost will be roughly £1.5k.
As for the colour combo, it's my personal fav Have to say though that non red cars are usually £1.5-£2k cheaper.

I have decided to go to Edinburgh in the morning to have a look at it, does anyone on PH know anything about this car, its registration number is T192TSG and it was previously on an Irish number, if so please email my profile. Hopefully it will all be okay.

Thanks for the advice guys

Nick.

IIRC, Irish cars are treated as imports which should impact selling price. Where is car?

Hi Tony H

Bought it now, fantastic! Great roads on the way back as well, it drives really well, ended up sitting in the traffic as the M5 had been closed yesterday so the drive took eight hours to get back, I got out of the car with no aches or pains and a great big grin on my face

Thanks for the advice

Nick.

Stunning car!
I think that must be THE best colour combo for a 355. Great job
