i always fancied that in my car or on the bike. can you just turn up or is it a booking? i heard the surface is a bit loose and you can chip your paint big time doing high speed runs, is that the case?

VMax takes place at Brunters. See the VMax forum or www.vmax15000bhp.com

They are very security conscious as the area is used for car storage.

Running alone is no problem there having used the facility many times for VMAX.

However find yourself behind another car with fat rear tyres and you can kiss goodbye to your paintwork!

When I went there were just three of us booked in, my 3200, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and a Zagato bodied Vantage convertible (very rare and very expensive), we always left about 20 seconds between each car so no problems with stones, there were a couple of places where it was a bit bumpy but I still managed 165 on the straight before runnibg out of road, my driving capabilities were not quite good enough to really take advantage in fact I twice ended up doing a 360 spin and had the fuel cut off activate both times. Altogether a great day out especially during weekdays when it's quite,if you call to book they will tell you who else is on for that day, by the time we arrived 11.30 the people from Bently had just finished a morning of driving.

You might want to log me off at home (my bad, sorry - forgot to do it myself before leaving), and login with your vulcan1208 username Unless of course you want to be associated with my ramblings

Hi Chris

Glad you had a good time - I did too :-)

Next time, I'll be there in my uber-sorted V8 Vantage, and you can have a play with that :-)

That reminds me -- I have a pile of pics and video -- email me at jon@jonhoneyball.com and I'll give you the url.

Sounds great - I am very interested in some 'quiet' tracktime to try out some techniques.

Is is just the main straight and 'ring road' which is open or is the full circuit set out?

we had use of the whole thing -- not the truck testing area, which was being used for some very scary truck skidding stuff

Hi guys... was anyone at Bruntingthorpe or Rockingham last Tue (ie 18th). I was at both, and just wondering if I saw anyone from here.
