I've found a 1996 355 Spider, Rosso/Crema, Manual, FFSH, belts done in Nov 04, New clutch & P-Zeros & MOT, alarm, 2 trackers, 37,000 miles, £44,000, and its right hand drive! Does this sound too good to be true or is it the 37k miles that makes it cheap? Is 37k likely to be a problem? Help again please guys!

Hi m8. The price seems bang on the money to me, subject to a PPI. I think the seller is being very realistic . If the car was @ on a dealers' forecourt sticker would be £50k, no question. Dealer will take at least £3k or % of sale so you have to take this into account when looking at their prices. Mileage is not a prob if service stamps check out. Make sure hood is 100 % as this is a time consuming and costly procedure to put right.

Sound about right.

Cheapest one I've seen was at Verdi's for £36,000.

PS My car just passed 30k miles on the clock and whilst this is very dangerous and asking for trouble, the engine's running better than ever at the moment.

Sorry. Did'nt read the Spider bit. After 355, I sort of lose interest.

That car needed a lot of work on it as well.

The problem with Ferraris is that they do not have a life expectancy beyond 30,000 miles! The car will be fine but its value will be on the floor. You will struggle to sell it on with 40,000+ miles and you will end up giving it away. My advice is to either buy it VERY cheap or get one with less mileage and have some comfort zone. Personally I wouldnt bother at all as its out of date, and for the posing factor you will pay dearly in repairs and servicing. Buy yourself an M3 SMG and you will thank me for it. Lots of paintwork and tidying up inside. Easy to do stuff.

But if it was mecahnically sound, then it would have been a bargain. I paid more for my 348 a few months agao, although it did'nt need any work.

Except for a Tubi which I put in and will probably take off now.

37K on a 355? Thats a good solid ideal mileage if you ask me, the car has been used and (hopefully) maintained well. A Low risk car bascially.

I think 44K , as tony alluded to, is a realistic autumn/winter price for a spider.

In March/April time, the seller would easily be asking more like 49K.
