Went to Monza saturday because the track was open for the afternoon.
Some very nice cars attending including:
2 Modenas
996 GT2
993 GT2
996 GT3
2 996 TTs
many Impreza STIs
Mitsu EVO 6
and an awesome red F50

The first session was disappointing, too much traffic on the track.
I waited a while to exit for the second session and I found far better conditions, with very little traffic, so I was able to do some nice clean laps.
At the end of the session as I was returning to the pits with very little brakes left (Monza just eats the std pads), when I saw the F50 (which I was previously told was pushing quite fast) getting into the track.
I immediately said: forget it, I'm staying in!
So I did another 4 laps, with the F50 really charging pretty hard and me with almost no brakes.
The result is that now not only do I have to change the pads but also the discs!
It was worth it...

You can find two videos of this trackday here:
www.macio.org/360monza.htm

And yes, Manu, the videos do have the sound!

I agree!!!

Luigi - you are CLEARLY insane my friend.... I think you managed sideways action EVERY time you exited the first chicane....
Also did an AMAZING job of keeping up with the F50 too although in a straight line the car is just too damn fast for the 360M... Sensational driving mate and a fantastic video...

IT WAS LOUD IN THERE - VERY VERY FKING LOUD IN THERE TOO!!!!

Luigi that was fantastic- excellent driving and it certainly felt like I was there! Plenty of sideways action through both chicanes as well and I can see how you didn't have any brakes at the end of the session. Suspect your tyres were a tad shagged too Did you have a warning light on your centre console on the F50 session? Could have been the sunlight but it looked like a red glow from the panel that gives you error messages.....

Nice one Luigi. I look forward to meeting you; you are clearly a maniac.

Glad you enjoyed it!
I did have a red warning light come on when approaching the rev limiter and in afew other occasions.
During all the laps with the F50 I really had no brakes at all, I had to brake at least 30-50 metres before my usual braking points. It's a shame because my speed in the bends was higher than that of the F50, and without the brake problems it would have been a nice battle.
Sorry it's not possible to hear the sound of the F50, but you actually have to blame Manu for that, since my 360 with the Tubi package was at least 50% louder(that's what everybody at the track told me).
You guys really have to organize a trip here shortly, so that we can all go to Monza and have some fun...
Yes Kev, not only are the front discs thrashed as well as the pads, but also the tyres(esp. rears) don't look too healthy...

I think not long ago someone invented something called an aircraft. They are quite popular in a little village near you called Heathrow. Might be an idea to call down there and see if you can get a passenger ride to Milan.

Iguana.

My office/home is the countryside. We don't have the broadband revolution not matter what Tony Blair says! We do have car crime, drugs, burglary and mobile speed traps though! Accordingly I download at 45.2k.

If anyone has downloaded it can they cut it to CD? If so I can "backup" copies for distribution to Iguana 456mgt etc.

hmm.. DAZ - I reckon we might as well put them up on like a classified type "road-bombing server". I'm going to send a few clips over to Rich - I'll upload them - Rich you got an FTP server I can upload to?

Hi guys i am fairly new to this site and am a complete ferrari nut found the video of luigi,s track day fantastic would of loved to have been there myself. If any of you ever have a spare seat on a track day like this let me know i am a mechanic by trade so could be a handy person to have around maybe we could do some sort of trade. Quick check of the car for say a few laps in a prancing horse who knows. Once again brill video hope you do another soon new discs, pads, tyres sounds a very exspensive day. Set of slicks on next time and i am sure you would have the f50 beat for sure. bye for now
