I've found what seems like the perfect 355 spider in my favourite colours and at the right price. Does anyone know of a specialist that would come and check it over like an AA check but specialising in Ferrari so they don't miss any known weak spots? Please help!

Whereabouts in the Country is it?

For Kent, East London I'd use Roger from KHPC Maidstone

For Berks,West London area Mike from QV in Ascot

For the North Nick Cartwright

For South West you could try Hollingworth in Worcestershire

Its in Sheffield. I contacted the Ferrari Owners Club and they put me onto Mark at Sports Car Guides. He's going to look at it on Tuesday to check it out. I've already left a deposit subject to the check being ok. Its a 1996/N Spider Rosso/Crema manual 26000 miles. Needs a service which they're getting done at Nick Cartwright on saturday and they're painting the front bumper for me as its got stone chips. I got the price down from £50000 to £46000. How does that sound?

Thanks Tony, i'll make sure hood is ok. Specialist has been to see it now and pointed out a few bits that the seller has agreed to sort out. Bit ped off though as when i asked if it felt as quick as others (it felt a bit slow to me when i drove it which was strange, i know my supra's got more grunt but its also a lot heavier) he said he hadnt driven it! By the way, it looks just like yours!

PS. like the neat garage!

Sorry, but I think that is outrageous that you have been (presumably) charged for a specialist inspection and they have not even driven the car.

How do you know the clutch is not on it's way out, or that there is not some untoward engine noise under load or any other miriad of little niggles that would only show up when it was being driven.

Kick up a bloody stink and get someone to test it properly
