Well Guys .....
Ive Sold the 3200Gt.
She's going Wednesday.

Thanks for all your advice guys especially Mr Tony "Rich" = Top Bloke and Nigelo as well who took the time out to advise me

You guys have excellent knowledge of the cars.

Also thanks to the lads on here who have also contributed to the threads.

Well... The car is going Wednesday and Im Honestly Gutted.
Partly torn between its Stunning Looks and Partly glad to see the MoneyPit 'Leave'

Yes.. Its been a pain during the past 4 months or so but she is now a sorted car and finally she has decided to "Play Ball" I have sold her !

My Gransport is Due Jan and I need to make the room in my garage so the 3200 is making way for an M3 on Wednesday (temp) which hopefully is a more reliable motor. The Misses is pleased with the upgrade to the 320ci.

I had a terrible time with my Dealer well...Service wise (Sales were Excellent)but due to the awful level of service from the Maintenance Dept, my new car order is now with another Main Dealer and I hope the M3 will be a more usable day to day car for myself and the 'Misses' in the meantime.

The 3200 is a stunning car and I will be sad to see her go but there are certain issue's I could not tolerate anymore (even with Rose coloured Glasses!) e.g The Dealer was a total Joke (In my Personal Experience) which ruined some of my experience of the car.

The Idea of buying from a Main Dealer should give you Piece of mind is total BS!

I had to fight every inch of the way with the Dealer and the Warranty company.
Ask anyone why a certain 'Dealer' has switched warranty companies from Trident ?

Thanks again Guys for your support.
Hopefully the new car will be an improved experience (in my case anyway).
Pics to follow....
Pete

Thats ironic really....I got rid of my M3 (E46) cause it was unreliable (including blown engine) and replaced it with a Maserati Coupe! Reliable so far (12 months). I'm sure the GS will be fantastic

Hey Steve,

Good Point mate!
Its all down to personal experience I guess.

I appreciate that each car owners expereience is down to the actual car and perhaps the dealer.

I have read a number of threads about blown engines on the M3 hence the reason we have bought from main Dealer (hopefully if anything goes wrong then we have BMW UK to complain to.)

The Launch control is Especially interesting !!!??? Not advertised by my Main Dealer I May add!

The Majority of my bad experience granted was the main dealer's service dept and the hidden costs (IMO)

It does not put me of the Marque (I love the cars) but I will not buy from them again.

At least the new car will have 3 years warranty.

I still hate the new lights though (sorry guys but they are shit!)

Wish I had the money to change them!

Have been informed that its around £8,000 to convert to the Stunning Boomerang Lights.

The Driving experience makes up for it though ! Trust me !

Thanks Again for your help Lads.

Pete,

Glad to have been of assistance mate. Great to hear the Gransport is on the way in the new year - should be a stunning drive - I'm most jealous! Got any details on colour / spec?

In the end you have to say that the 3200 is a car you buy with your heart more than your head - but hey what a car - wouldn't swap my memories of driving mine for anything else. Despite the fact that my Morgan is undoubtedly quicker - it doesn't ahve the shock factor the 3200 has when the turbos light up - that rush is something thats probably pretty much impossible to emulate in any other car.

Good luck with the M3 though (traitor! )

Pleased I could help here and there and hope your new chariot(s) lives up to expectations. I'm just sorry that you appeared to have such a bum steer with a tit of a dealer and a seemingly never ending history of probs. Unfortunately, only those cars with probs grab the headlines and yes, all Masers do need looking after but I would not trade mine for anything just yet.

I have driven (and got the spanners out for) many older Ferraris over the years and owned 2 but the 3200 is quite the best GT I have personally experienced. With both Masers and Ferraris you don't own them - They own you and you live that experience to the full. Maybe I'm just lucky but my 3200 runs like clockwork - on steroids of course.

Good luck for the future

Nigel

Pete,
We never got to meet up for the photo shoot but never mind. Hope you have a bit more luck with your new puchase and do let us know when you get the GS.

Assuming the main dealer is the same, I fully appreciate your feelings!!!

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your post mate.
We can always meet up for a Pre Xmas Car Meet if your up for it ?
Perhaps get some of the other lads on here to come along ?
New Maser due Jan so I will be up for a Photo Shoot then Steve.

Swapped sides temporarily though to the BMW M3 Group!
Gotta Say the M3 is a Brilliant Handling Vehicle but looking forward to the Raw Passion of the Gransport!
P.S maserati Head Office have got to get their act together though !
Total not impressed by them at all.
Part of me wants to move to another brand after their arrogance.

Little bit of advice Head Office - Act before you are taken to Court. The outcome would still be the same but you would have installed customer confidence.
Having owned a number of brands before - you can see things through 'Rose' Coloured Glasses but the fact remains that the warranty company and the Head office assistance was a total Joke.
Keep it up guys and see where you are in 5 years.
Sick of paying £89 + vat every three weeks for collection plus work (approx £600 every bill) when the cars breaks down after less than 5 miles after delivery.
Thats Shite in anyones Book!
Im Paying some other Sod to drive my Fekin Car!

I honestly hope that the next owner had the benefits of a sorted 3200 Gtm after the years problems mainly from the Dealer more than Car that I have experienced.
Sick of it !

Sorely tempted to move brands.Sorry but thats how I feel Lads.
Trident Warranties need to look at themselves big time and yes I naming you.
How about some Fekin Customer Service for once without the threat of Legal Action ?

Cheers!
Pete

Mmmmmm GranSport

Sounds like January might be a good time to have another Maserati (plus Morgan and 300ZX!)meet at Rose & Crown near Virginia Water

What colour combo have you gone for? I fell in love with the metallic black/burgandy leather GS at Maranello's.

Yeh, I think the ownership experience thing is like walking a tightrope. I loved the M3 as a car apart from the fact that the engines are rougher than the smaller 330 which is smooth as silk. I was shocked when only 2 weeks after delivery, I booked it in for a minor fault to be told it needs to have new big end bearings fitted!

What on a new car!!!?????

So it had them as part of a UK campagn and guess what 9 months later it needed a new engine under warrenty.

Dealer was absolute shite. I felt I knew more about M3's

Great car though........

Prefer my Coupe all round especially the engine which is silk....dealer is good as well. Luck of the draw?

Pete,

Sorry to hear of your 3200 woe's, I guess it had to go eventually; hope you enjoy the M3! I thought you'd have taken delivery of the GS by now - the wait must be killing you! Give me a shout when you get it, we'll see if we cant get some top notch photo's of it..... BTW what colour scheme did you go for in the end?

cheers,
Steve
