Guys,

I'm seriously considering the possibility of removing the CAT's on my Murcie.

I know a few companies over in the USA have done this.

Does anyone know who offers de-cat/bypass pipes here in Europe and how I can overcome the CEL issues?

With the TUBI left in situ and the CAT's out I'm hoping the car will sound like a Diablo GTR/SVR !! (and maybe have a few more HP!)

Cheers guys.

I think Simon has had every after-market exhaust under the sun on his Murcie but I'm pretty sure he hasn't had the CAT's removed.

Muncher,

Thanks had a look at their stuff - looks realtivley straight forward assuming the the Engine management system will play ball.

I also need to find someone with suitable "bypass" pipes so I can get the CAT's removed/replaced.

i've been looking at doing the same to my sv. the americans are really into their tuning, have you been on www.lambo-power.com? there are guys there with lambo workshops that are real helpfull. i am in touch with a specialist in the uk that can make (slightly) silenced bypass pipes, have you heard a lambo v12 with just bypass's fitted. IT'S A BIT TOO LOUD!! you might blow the neighbours windows out. i'm reliably informed 30 to 40 bhp can be gained also. try www.stainless-exhaust.com they may be able to help, i have other contacts also.

Tony,

I guess the emphasis is on "try speaking to Mike Pullen......." - every time in the past that I've tried to get hold of the guy it's like getting through a ring of steel ! And when you do eventually speak to him he promises to "get back to you" - and he never does - sorry but I gave up on that guy years ago. Maybe it's different once you have an established relationship with him.

I was under the impresssion that the cats were built into the manifold and therefore very difficult to remove. I know Si was looking at de-catting but came to a deadend - maybe something new on the market now though.

Nope the headers are separate = the CAT's bolt on so can they can be replaced.

Yea i have'nt done it on my Murcie - mainly cos of the warranty issues..I think Alan will confirm that a Tubi etc, Lamborghini will turn a blind eye to, but decatted? Lambo Manchester wouldnt have any of it. Would do it after its out though.

I'm fortunate (or more probably unfortunate!), that my warranty has just expired!!

if my contacts don't help plenty of other people can make them, i know this from over ten years of ownership. try hayward and scott and even blue flame (nigel), they could make me exactly what i wanted. i too know mike very well, you'll find he is ofter very very busy. just checked lots of murcie exhaust posts on lambo-power.

My Diablo was de-catted and had the Lamborghini sports exhaust. In essence, there was zero silencing!

It was incredibly loud, much like a GTR. However, given that I used the car sparingly, it wasn’t too much of a problem…
