LOOKING FOR A 308/328
Discussion
Mine had suffered from too little use over the past couple of years. New plug leads and extensions and some remedial work here and there have more or less sorted that out - I say more or less...there are always things to do on a car of this age....For instance I had to have a new clutch - it had had one only last June, but for some reason the friction material broke up. The gearchange linkage needed realigning - it only has to be slightly out and it'll pop out of gear/refuse to engage - all the symptoms of a knackered gearbox - when in fact there's nothing wrong with it.
Did I mention the non-functioning handbrake or the glacial electric window motors? But the pleasure outweighs the pain!...and I managed to put about 2,000 miles on it this summer.

I'm after a non-red 308 GTS but having looked for 4 months still had no joy, unsurprisingly almost all are red. Anyone know of any available, especially a blue car, as I seem to have exhausted the usual avenues.
Cheap 328?

Ric,
I know where there is an absolutely immaculate Black late 308 GTB, and I mean immaculate. It is on the classifieds on Karl Verdis website but the owner is Sletti on ferrarichat.co.uk.
He has just bought my 348 Spider so he may be in a mood to do a good deal

Sletti's car looks really nice - same colour as mine, including the interior too but a GTB.
I bet you got a good deal on that 328 - the whole reason I didn't buy one was because Ferrari did away with the toggle switches - plus I wasn't after ultimate performance - the Caterham provides more of that!
There seem to be very few non-red cars about - I specifically didn't want a red one - looked at a couple of other cars - Karl Verdi's very low mileage Nero 308 GTS QV - one of the last RHD cars built but too pricey at the time - without the necessary paintwork. I think the car's still for sale.
Also looked at an lhd Blu Sera GTS - also through Verdi - sold at a smidge under £16k IIRC. I didn't buy it as it had some corrosion on it and a stiff clutch.
I've seen a couple of 2 valve injection cars - non-red up for sale too - James Pusey brings them in from Switzerland and sells them as PG Martini -these seem good cars if you can handle 2 valve and lhd.

Hard enough finding a GTB, but one that isnt red..........I havnt come across any non red GTBs in my search, that have been RHD, have seen a blue LHD car for sale though
A friend has a lovely early lhd 308 gtb in gunmetal with red leather its stunning. Being ex US its in suprisingly good condition in comparison to most uk cars, plus running on carbs its quite a bit more powerful and better sounding than the pre Qv injection cars
He might be parted for £20k....

Well I have got it, and it home, 300 miles drive home and it didnt miss a beat, feels like it need brake pads,(where do you guys buy your service items?)and it feels a bit squirmy at the front under braking so it might need some bushes of some sort, otherwise, its fantastic, no air con so I am sure I will get hot in the summer, but thats a long way off ......love the view over the front wings, must be one of the prettiest cars ever built.
