The extreme version of the Modena, called either Challenge Stradale or GT, is going to be produced in a limited edition.

How do I know?
Cos I just ordered the first one to come to Switzerland!

It is still unofficial info, but they are really going to make it, and first deliveries will be around June.

Technical infos are almost zero, all I know is that it's going to be lighter, hp will be slightly higher and the suspension set up will be completely reworked and pretty extreme!

Manu, please give a call once in a while to your friend in Modena to see if he has any new info.
So excited!!!

LG

Excellent news. Keep us updated. When do you spec the chariot?

DAZ

(PS - Excellent Monza video, particularly the crossing of hands in the chicane!)

Edited to say, Who's going to keep the British end up by ordering one of these in the UK? Manu & Ajay, are you running a book yet?

I'm going to order one too.... NOT! (well, at least not yet).

Luigi - one thing mate - and it's something I don't yet know - is it going to be F1-shift only...? I would prefer if people had the option and I reckon that if the F1 shift is available either as standard or not I think it will be a VERY VERY aggressive setup like the Challenge car or indeed the Enzo...
Either way - I know you love the normal six-speed so you must INSIST on the car being built this way even if it means going to Maranello to have it as a custom option.

Bravo Manu!
You`ve brought up the only point of concern for me.
I`ve been told that the F1 system for the Challenge Stradale will be very aggressive, something like the Challenge cars or Enzo.
I don`t know yet if they are going to offer the option for a 6spd. manual.
I love the gated shifter and doing my own shifts, but a system like the Challenge`s would be pretty awesome.
What would you guys choose? Opinions please...

Luigi- this is bloody marvellous! Dribbling is the operative word .

I wonder if you will get much in the way of choice. With the specially engineered one-offs like the F40, F50 & Enzo, choices are limited and I can understand why- it's just too expensive to engineer choice. However, a modification of an existing model should be OK- think of the 550 Barchetta. Follow the logic and the Stradale should be made on the same line as the 360 and should be available in a range of colours and have both manual and F1 gearbox options. The model will be notable in what they DON'T fit (as far as price I rather suspect less is more).

So on the assumption that it will be the same gearbox as the 360 (don't give me any of this uprated software bollocks either), I would choose manual. Suspect twin clutches are the way to go on semi-autos, and AFAIK the Ferrari is a single clutch unit.

Whatever you go with Luigi, enjoy it!

Kevin, the F1 box as it is in the Challenge cars shifts much quicker than the std F1 on road 360s.I`ve tested one for a whole day and there is quite a difference.
I prefer the 6 spd. vs the std F1 on a regular Modena without question. But on a model as focused as this one (the Stradale), which will be used purely as a fun weekend car and on the track, and possibly with an F1 similar to the Challenge`s the choice becomes harder...

Hmmm... this is a tough one actually...... I love the six-speed manual 'box on the new Ferraris - it is very satisfying. BUT, the option of a hyper aggressive mega-F1 shift is VERY tempting...
The relatively "pedestrian" F1 shift on the 575M when in sport mode has the car wheel spinning in from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd (so the magazines say) so given that the Stradale will be even more aggressive and faster that would make it AWESOME.
It's funny because the 360 is already a weapon - the stradale is going to be even more intense and with the F1 shift it will be positively violent...
I dunno Luigi - around a track or twisty roads you'll DEFINITELY be quicker.....

You already know the answer then Luigi! Since it's mainly a track car (I assume) there is nothing really to lose by going F1. Launches, traffic, three point turns and hill starts won't be much in evidence presumably, so this would be my choice. This would be a good opportunity to see if you could live with it long term as well.
