hiring a car from www.ferrari-hire.com
Discussion
hi all,
been lurking for a while but finally decided to join up!
Just a quick question, i might be hiring my dream fezza from www.ferrari-hire.com in a couple of months, as im never going to be able to afford to own one!
so i was just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this company or knows what they are like etc, ive heard a few horror stories of such super car hire places about how they like to rip people on their deposits or how they car limted cars with software that tells them if its been revved to high or driven to fast, is this true? any help much apreciated

I looked into hiring a Ferrari but the insurance excess they wanted was stratoshperic. In order to not find the sum of money they wanted from me totally terrifying I'd have to be rich enough to buy my own Ferrari, which would render hiring one entirely irrelevant. They also impose mileage limits which reduce the whole excercise to a day spent making short trips between parking spots. Unless you can find one of those guys who can 'correct' digital odometers and arrange to pay him a visit on your way to return the car you might as well not bother.
Well my company boths sells and rents our F430 and other prestige cars. I would be more than happy to discuss further with you...www.importmarques.com ....ask for Raj

I suppose you've fiddled your gas meter to run backwards as well have you?
a word of warning to anyone thinking of carrying out this wonderful advice, its a criminal offence to tamper with a cars odometer and if you do so on a rental car its classed as fraud so you could find yourself doing a spot of bird.

No, I can't work out how to do it

Just for the benefit of anyone really impressionable... I wasn't being serious
I checked out the aformentioned web site and they want a credit card deposit of £2500. Well... I'm sorry but If I were on the kind of income that I considered £2500 inconsequential enough to risk on an insurance excess then I'd be able to afford my own Ferrari.
If anyone knows of a car hire company that will do a Ferrari for a day with an excess of no more than £500 do tell!

Well my company doesnt actually take the deposit, we take it in principle. I take say £2000 as a deposit but dont actually take it from the card, i have to autherise it to take it off the card and if there is no damage etc then the money stays on the card. I hope this makes sence.
My website is www.westcountrysupercarhire.co.uk and i deliver all over the uk. If there is a car not mentioned on the tariff page please email or call and im sure i can get it for you.

I'm 27 years of age. Looking at various websites, guessing I might have to wait till i'm 30. Anyone consider hiring to drivers under 30?
I do, some of the cars are 25+ and some including Ferrari's 28+ and the rest are 30+.
So its looks like you might have a good 28th birthday present to yourself lined up.
