New XK convertible vs. 2003 Maser spyder:

no roof - check
4.2l V8 - check
OTR £70K - check
lots of cow used - check
looks good - check(ish)
interior toys and comfort - check

Performance - oh dear - only 300 bhp 6 secs to 60 felt like it too
Feel of luxery - nope feel of a posh ford
Paddle shift - no its a auto with paddles to override - crap, really really crap, in fact terrible
sound - oh dear - the poor sales man drove it under a bridge to show off the sound, I took him round the block in the tubid maser after, he had to go to the docs to fix his hearing

He's put me at the top of the list for a drive in the XKR when it arrives, but the interior, crap gears, being common etc makes me think it will be abit average.

Now I'm going to have to drive the amv8 and db9 and hope to hell they are in a different league. Worryingly I watched top gear when they reviewd the amv8 vs 911 vs m6 and they all said "next year the jag x8 will be out and they're always better"

Maser drivers you have nothing to fear from the XK brigade.

Maybe, but then only in performance terms, in terms of uniqueness, luxury feel, branding etc the Maser wins hands down.

To be honest I was really disapointed and didn't want to be by the Jag. I had hoped they had got back to the glorious e-type style days but no its a failure.
