Check out this link to see a photo of a production LP640 alongside the 2000th Murcielago and a Gallardo at the factory. It's in a nice but strange colour, no doubt adapted from a similar colour some Miuras were produced in. It's nice to see that this particular one has been fitted with Roadster rims (in Herculean Titanium). Enjoy...

Nice, but the Roadster has just stopped production. The last one in Black for the UK market is at Lambo Manchester where its just been sold.
Incidentally, 2 Murcies in there being prepared for the Gumball. White Pearl coupe with the reg 1 YOU. The Polish owner has inserted a loveheart between the 1 and YOU! Also has fitted a remote controlled Capristo exhaust! And an Orange Roadster with the reg no FL4SH. Great looking car...Also they have a lovely black Countach Anniversary. Mines in for a power steering pump leak and an air scoop hinge. They break all the bloody time if you have em going up and down constantly like I do

The white murcie was at the chunnel - saw them on the way back from minihoon - looks pretty nice - though I think the white really needs sunshine to look it's best though

Simon, Do you know if the Murci Roadster is still at Lambo Manchester in the showroom?

If so, I might have to have a "drive by" and a gander at it. Oh...

Awesome. So when you say Simon that the Roadster has stopped production does that mean it will definitely be upgraded to 6.5 litres? Will it receive the visual upgrades like the coupe? I don't know about you but I think the Roadster will look better with the original front bumper and not the new LP640 type; the original has cleaner, prettier lines which I think will suit it better.

And that's probably why I've had no luck in finding a Roadster for a Premiership footballer who is badly after one (won't name him). Rosso Corsa have just sold a black on black Roadster for 192k and since I haven't seen any others up for sale - black with black leather? A bit wrong if you ask me, imagine how hot it would get in there, you'd have to have a light coloured leather interior with a black Roadster like cream.

I have seen that white coupe, plate's very cheeky, you can see it on ExoticSpotter.com, a great site. Orange Roadster with plate FL4SH!!! How feckin' appropriate and what a lucky bastard!

I love the Countach but not in black, in 80s white anyday... With a big yuppie car phone!

A question here for you Lambo enthusiasts, how do you pronounce 'Countach'? And how do the Italians pronounce it? I have always pronounced it 'Count-ash' but some people say 'Coon-tarsh' in a very annoying, Jeremy Clarkson manner.

Simon are you still hoping to get a pearl white LP640?

As it took Clarkson and Co. about 10 years to pronounce Porsche correctly, he's never going to be a good indicator.
He also pronounced Veyron "VERY-ON" for about 2 years.
Berk.
Clearly does not take instruction well.
"Coon-tash" it is, by the way.
Love that LP640. Hubba hubba.

I don't know if the LP640 will have a Roadster derivative. Personally I doubt it - they weren't a strong seller for Lamborghini, a lot of that down to the barchetta type hood. Had it been a Gallardo spyder type hood, I suspect it would be a different story.
I cancelled the LP640 order for the non existant Miura. Hold my hands up there, I was certain they would build it. So I'm going to order one for March '07 delivery. I've changed my mind about pearl white. I think the next one will be black with yellow calipers and dualtone yellow/black interior. Or graphite grey with yellow calipers and stiched yellow inside. I dunno, its a long way off.

Simon,

So you're going to order an LP640 for next year?............Or are you hoping the "all new" car will be out next year?

As you know I have the same dilemna! Don't know if I want to take the hit on a LP640 if the "all new" car does materialise in late 07 as an 08 model?

I think the 'new' Murci won't be out until 2009, with the 640 running from now(ish) to the end of the run. Having spoken to Lambo London is seems that they are proving very popular - their entire allocation now have names against them.

Whether they'll make a 640 roadster is questionable. Only 16 RHD cars were sold in the UK (which is why they are hard to find for sale) and the hood was useless. However demand for them is strong on the second hand market (with used cars selling for near list) when they come up for sale, so Lambo might consider it - although that will destroy values on the mk1 roadster.

lp640 - how serious is your friend? I know he'd have the cash but if I found one how likely would he be to buy it?

A while ago there was a link going round to a website of some Spanish guy, where they had audio files of the correct pronounciation of every Lamborghini name

Anyone still got the link?

Are you talking about the person I know who wants a Roadster? He would DEFINITELY buy one if he could, he has no preference of colour or seating (RHD/LHD).

Flippin' heck, only 16 RHD? They will hold their value like crazy.

I was also told the same, the all new daddy Lambo won't arrive until 2009. I'd say go for the LP640, it'll be the 6.0VT equivalent of the Murcielago, the finished article. It's mental, I never expected Lamborghini to increase the engine size and power to this extent during production of the Murci', I thought they would leave it for the next model, obviously not with Lamborghini proudcuing the unexpected as ever.

I presume there'll be owners upgrading the bumpers and tail-lights on their coupes to that of the LP640's.

A good choice of colours Simon, I like the yellow callipers with black.

Somehow I think black doesn't do the murcielago justice and it would need a daily wash 'n wax given the mileage that you do! Graphite grey with colour coded alloys would certainly look the biz.
