my 348 continues to be a dream. qv, ascot putting tubi on tomorrow..will be taking it on first trip abroad to west coast of ireland in 2 weeks. is it me or does owning one of these cars make you slightly obsessive about kerbs, the angle of petrol forecourts and generally bits of the environment which can scrape the front??having sleepless nights about getting it on/off ferry. any tips?? bring some planks of wood??

My Spider was no problem on the Plymouth to Santander ferry. I think the staff are aware of low ground clearance cars and either direct you across at an angle, or they'll usually have some wood to assist if needs be. Should be fine though.

Think you'll be ok, I asked the same question about my trip to Le Mans, due to the overhang on mine. If a Radical can get on I think anything can.

The staff at Portsmouth Ferry Terminal are very sympathetic to low cars and have planks of wood handy!

The ferry loaders should encourage you to approach the ramp at a diagonal, one wheel at a time reduces the overhang. We found the French guys more considerate than the English.

In a 355 a couple of years ago and not problem. Backwards is an option I guess.
