Can anyone fill me in on a few details about these cars? I am considering buying one second hand but don't know much about them yet. So to start off with are they all 4.2 normally aspirated and did Maserati make a standard manual or is it just an "Auto" (which I don't want) or the Cambiocorsa, which I believe is it the F1 floppy paddle type things? Oh and it might seem a minor details but did they have electrically foldable mirrors (to get it in and out of my garage easily when raining!) Any other comments about buying a used Spyder would be gratefully received! Thanks Rich...

Best thing is read every thread on this forum, get down a dealership and have a chat, turn up at a VW meet and have a chat but:

1. 4.2 NA
2. Manual or Cambi - cambi come with auto mode but I've never used it really
3. Mine has leccy mirrors
4. Buy one post 2003 as they have a glass rear screen and skyhook
5. A tubi exhaust is a must (set aside some cash for one)
6. sat nav is good
7. Flappys i.e. cambi gearbox will take a couple of weeks to get used to - even if you don't really like it, trust this forum you WILL like it after a couple of weeks and not go back to a manual;
8. Enjoy

Thanks David, I've been to a few VW meets but never as a prospective Maserati owner, I'll do as you suggest and chat to a few dealers - any recomendations in the South / Thames Valley area, there's Meriden I suppose if I fancy a drive to the New Forest! Rich...
