I've just sold my GP Spyder on ebay and was impressed by the level of interest I got and the eventual price. I was wondering what people thought about selling my Ferrari 456M on ebay. In the past when I've looked, it seems that the ones that appear on ebay generally have some reason why they might not have sold (e.g. high mileage or odd colour or damaged etc.) whereas my car is immaculate, low miles, good colour etc. so I'm prepared to be reasonable but don't want to undersell it.

I believe in the theory that the value of a car is where you can find a buyer (not where others are being advertised) but also that you have to be patient to sell a Ferrari.

Any thoughts or anyone have any experience of selling one and getting a good price.

Thanks...

I sold my bike on ebay recently (admittedly not the same thing ) but the thing to do it put the car on with a buy it now price of what you would like and just use it as another advert. More often than not someone will contact you off ebay and ask to come and see the car I'd just advise you don't put it on as an auction as you may be disappointed if it doesn't make the reserve for example.

Also put it in the PH classifieds and do places like fcars have for sale sections?

I've sold cars before on ebay (bought my SL55 from ebay then sold it 3 months later for practically the same)

Took 3 or 4 listings as the usual timewaster/fake bidders were in play, but got a good buyer in the end.

Try to put as much 'honest' description as possible. I always put as many pictures as I can take on the ad (including service history etc etc)

I always sell my cars on a 99p start, no reserve. Get more interest and higher money from this instead of setting a high start price with reserve (fees are cheaper too)

Obviously don't accept a bankers draft unless you've spoken to the issuing bank to confirm it's authenticity...
