Looked everywhere from 6.oltrs to 2wd to sv done the usual search on auto trader but they all look tatty or wrong colour or way overpriced i like silver black or scuro blue but cant find none the 6.oltr one i was ment to view seems tatty as well and still the dealer wants strong money, are there any reasonably priced diablos out there or are all the good ones gone?driving me crazy!!!!!
Hi Anjum,
Respect to a man who knows his Lambos.
What makes the dilemma even more difficult is the fact that my SV is totally immaculate. There were only nine 1999 SV's ever imported in to the UK. I know of two that were available for sale recently, A yellow one with very high mileage and a Scurro Blue one but on further investigation has had a total respray.
The 6.0 SE that I am after is one of only three ever produced for the UK.
Styling wise, I actually prefer the SV over the 6.0. I have enclosed a link to some pictures of my car too see what everyone thinks.
All the best,
Wazza.

Agreed ...that SV looks simply stunning ...and there's something about the air scoops that make it look more purposeful!!!
....if that was mine, I'd be keeping it!!! 530 bhp I assume? ...and lighter than the 6.0L, which only has 20 bhp more!!

Car looks lovely.
Do the new wheels change the damping characteristics? They do look might naughty!
I always loved the Jota scoops on the SV's. (And I liked the rear wing with the little adjustable flappy bit too - which I never touched on my orange SV), but strangley, I opted for a 6.0L without the wing, which I felt, didn't need one (although I think Tony's CF wing looks mean).
Did you buy your car from Top Gear?
Cheers

Hi Anjum,
The car did come from Carlo at Top Gear Specialist Cars. I live part time in Inverness and the rest in Glasgow. Carlo is a great guy and really looks after me.
The wheel change has made a quite unexpected difference to the car. Damping characteristics are very compliant. I was expecting the ride to be upset a little and for the suspension travel to crash a bit more over uneaven surfaces. However, none of that. Handling and overall grip has improved noticeably. feedback through the steering has also sharpened up a bit. Ride comfort is very much the same. The size of wheel is just right (20 back, 19 front) and doesn't look out of place. Also fills the rear arches better than the original set (which I still have for future track days). Only downside is a tiny bit of scrubbing at the front on full lock but that's barely noticeable.
What are your opinons Amjam of the 6.0L after having an SV? Any regrets or is it the right step forward?
For me, I wanted an SV with the intention of moving on to a perfect 6.0. That is where it stops for me as never been a fan of the modern stuff. Maybe I am just sentimental or old fashioned.

Hi Jon,
Nice to hear from you again. I am in Glasgow at the moment but would love to make time to attend some events. Any suggestions?

Hi Icebite. Looks like Gary is not going to part with his 99 SV. Just to clarify yes his car was totally repainted (concours job) for two reasons. 1st of all people leaning on the car and jean studs leaving marks on the paintwork and secondly that after the 2005 trip to le mans when a very good mate Nick owned the car the front end needed repainting because of the stone chips collected. I have seen the video of the SV pulling 7000rpm in top?.
For 2006 we armourfended the SV but it still does not prevent some debris causing paint damage at high speed. So when you get one you have two choices. drive it like it was built to be driven or stay under 50mph. Gary sold his 93 diablo now owned by magnidec to buy the SV. Don't dismiss it as that is an awesome car. I have driven many miles in both and that is far far quicker than the SV. I personally would recommend two things though. A brake upgrade and get Mike Pullen to put a new light weight clutch in it. In some respects Gary wishes he kept it. I kid you not that car will spin the wheels in third gear.

third gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! imagine the noise....no problem mate thanks for getting back to me ive already emailed howard about his 93 just waiting for a reply.Ive heard the earlier diablos are that bit quicker due to less weight of electronics is this true this probably means less to go wrong in them?
