Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the remapping capabilities of the 3200GT are, and what sort of figures you would expect to see?

Which companies offer a remap?

What are the pros and cons of a remap?

Does anyone know of any 3200GT that has had its turbos upgraded?

Thanks
Jules.

It can be done. GErman company offers tuning kits. I've already posted this if you do a search of the archives.

you can just turn the wick up on the turbos, but cooling will be the issue. It is of course possible to put in larger turbos and new intercoolers - starts to get expensive when you play that game.

I would speak to any of the main tuners out there. Ray West, DMS etc etc shoudl be able to help you.

The good news in that the basic 3200 engine block is strong and good for more power, but the head, turbos, intercoolers and possibly engine internals will need uprating, which aint gonna be cheap. I think the 'finger in the air quotes' to get mine to 500bhp were in the region of 10k+.

If you're gonnna add more power to the 3200 (which is already overpowered for the chassis anyway!) then you need to look at better brakes, tweaks to suspension to make sure you can keep the thing pointing forwards....

Leo NArdo used to offer performance tuning options - not listed any more - might be worth getting in touch with these chaps anyway...

Also try www.modena-tec.com/ and access the Maserati section under the "Program" menu but hope they have mercy on your cheque book. Options go up to 580bhp for a "modest" Euro 43,500 !!!

hope this helps

which is the better drive?

which feels fastest accelerating and sounds best with moderate sports exhaust

anyone tried 19" wheels (Dimex?)

Can suspension be made more comfortable without losing poise?

Is 4200 any less thirsty?

Not seen any 4200s at £20k

what is best Indie warranty?

Offered a 22k miles 3200 2002 @ £22k - just had bottom end done due to crank walk..

which is the better drive?

probably the 4200

which feels fastest accelerating and sounds best with moderate sports exhaust

probably the 3200 because of the turbos but ther 4200 sounds better

anyone tried 19" wheels (Dimex?)

nope but I would guess harder ride & more tramlining

Can suspension be made more comfortable without losing poise?

dunno

Is 4200 any less thirsty?

cant imagine so

do an autotrader search

to be honest, any indie warranty I would imagine to be rubbish in the event of a claim
