Its not good. They changed the sensors, the clutch and cleared the ECU of faults. Then it broke down again with the same problem. Nothing but neutral and a bleeping with the gearbox warning light showing on the dash. They cleared the ECU of faults again and so far so good but the warning light is now on the dash again. Apparently it could be 3 other things including a gearbox pump? each of which is £700 so I'm not happy. I know its going to go again but don't want to spend £2100 finally fixing it.The SD2/1 won't narrow the fault down to just one of the 3 parts. Anyway Rick has it this month so it'll probably go again before I get it. Thanks for asking

Everything's good so far - touch wood, hopefully it's just a 'glitch'.

The fault has tended to occur when it's been very wet so I've been clocking up a few miles in the recent monsoons.

Couldn't agree more Steve. There's so much more stuff to go wronf with e-gear's/paddleshifts plus you have not as much control over the clutch wear either.

Erm yes! Actually the factory are making very small numbers of manuals until next year. Only e-gears are available over here. I've gone 50/50 with the LP640 with Andy (cummingsa). It works really well the car sharing thing. After all you can only drive one at a time.
Hows your Murcie running anyway? Havn't heard from you in ages

Simon,

Running like a dream (touches wood!) - I have a flashing error light on the suspension - so i probably have one defective electronic control unit (GRRR ...excatly what's been said above!) - so I'm deciding wether to get it looked at or wait unitl next spring.

Personally I'm not sure if an LP640 is the right "next" move or whether to wait for the all new car - and keep putting miles on the Murcie until then!

I like the idea of this car sharing thing.

I just need to find a car I want to share with someone who lives in Richmond and has a garage to store our car in. Any takers?

Bund, I might be up for something like this, BUT I am in Central London rather than Richmond (I do have underground parking however).....

Also, I am rather tall so can't fit in any Lambos, so I am thinking 599 instead......

Hi Bund

I'm in Richmond, off street (secure) and garage....

Do you want to hook up for a beer and a chat?

I must say, however, I have never shared a care before....

I'm moving to Richmond in October and have an underground car park!

Where are you Anjum/Bund?

Would be nice to meet up with people for a beer and a chat every now and again, even if it's not to discuss car sharing!

Anjum/Jason

Send me a PM, Richmond isnt a very big place so it would be good to meet up and have a few beers. I have secure off street parking but for a super car id want to leave it in a garage.

Roger,

599 Great choice, any idea how long you would need to wait for one? I work in central London.

Totally agree - have thought for many years that it's a conspiracy by manufacturers. More electric problems equals more aftersales. From Mercs to Ferraris, I've yet to purchase a car newer that 1990. My ideal cars are the ones that keep moving along the road.

Bund - I've been let down by a couple of people supposedly with early 599s available, so still working on it. Will send you a PM when I have an update.
