what a weekend.
i've had the car a while and this was her first trip in anger...ie leave london at 2100hrs friday night for 2am ferry ..pembroke to rosslare ..then straight across to west coast next morning...to dingle which is really the most western tip of ireland...just a great trip...went to see how my brother (petrol head) is getting on since moving there..no sleep on ferry so pretty much driving on adrenaline in ireland but then get to the coast and its like....this is amazing...winding roads above gorgeous irish fields/atlantic views..then get some quite crap roads where front bottoms out at as low as 30....nissan primeras overtake..no sweat...then drive in to town...top down...me and the missus have those huge top hats ...with shamrocks all over them and tune in to the local station and have the traditional music playing...it was like we where arriving in a space ship...and then an amazing weekend happens.....then back on monday night...get off the ferry and have to overtake all the lorries from the ferry at 2 am on way to m4...just a proper laugh...and then some rapid movement down the M4 and back home ...cant believe the bang for bucks with a 348 spider....i mean i know the cognescenti here are down on these cars but....that is an amazing motor car...for what it is...i mean my integrale was more push you back in your seat. /911 more reassuring ..but at certain speeds that car does pick up with really stunning rapidity...and the car is just like personality and its like going on holiday with a third person...and what a car to look back on when she is parked.. a very very gregarious personality...and that is worth it...and then all my mates rang up to ask if it broke down or did a hissy fit...nothing..just well muddied up from driving on country roads and so i have thumbed that white van legend over the back..."i wish my missus was as dirty as this" which got a lot of laughs on the way home ....one of those trips that make everything really worthwhile.these fezzas are something else...and so my new missus who hasnt been in one of these cars who is so not a petrol head got out at 5am today and kissed the car....because she loves it now..brilliant and priceless...so again thanks for all the advice i got here before i bought it...
