Just wondering what the going rate is for a new clutch on a 2002 Spyder, been quoted approx £1800 inc fitting (i think?) from main dealer. Is that cheap/expensive?

BTW: clutch is worn 37%, its just making a funny noise in first gear during take off at approx 1500 - 2000, have been advised on new clutch but not urgent to do just yet!

usual post, but have you tried contacting indies like Verdi's who have fixed price menu's?

Hi

Not to sure on 4200 but compared with the clutch I was just quoted for my 3200 GT £1800 sounds good we were quoted £2k plus VAT by a dealer. I got a good deal from Hollingworths of Ombersley in the end, not sure where your based but if you are close to the West Midlands I would certainly give Steve Palmer a call.

autoshield in manchester quoted me £1100 fitted.

cheapest i found. mine was done at a main dealer in the end cos the selling garage paid but i will be off to autoshield next time.

might be worth trying strasse in leeds too. porsche place but they have an ex ferrari / maser mechanic who is supposed to be excellent.

hope this helps,
