ta dino, i heard today about a product called tetraboost, which apparently is a direct lead substitute - does anyone have any experience of it?

When Leaded was first phased out I spoke to Maranello's Egham; they could not confirm whether my car (1980 308GTB) had hardened valve seats.
Consequently, I investigated the lead substitues and concluded that Castrol Valvemaster was the best product. This conclusion was based on the tests conducted by the Federation of Historic British Vehicle Clubs.
However, I have never needed to use it as leaded petrol is not difficult to get hold of (at a price).
Recently on another forum, Maranello's Egham posted up a document that confirmed that my car (and yours) had hardened valve seats & would be fine on unleaded...
I still put Leaded in mine because I do very few miles so the extra cost is really not an issue.

The document from Maranello's can be seen in this link

Hope this helps

Cheers Andy, running it on Shell v-power 99 ron with castrol valvemaster plus, and all seems sweet - even a little popping on the overrun - thanks for the confirmation.
