How much more is a RHD worth over a LHD?
Given that that car has been for sale for over 6 months I guess they are asking a lot

250k is the number they want..... Spoke to them about this a couple of times. Just too pricey - a good "normal" one is around 200. I could never decide whether this was worth more or less than a LHR car, despite the provenance, so went no further.

Sounds like a gorgeous example of one, and at 200 I'd have bought it and taken the chance, but came to the conclusion that a truly original car was a better idea

I was asking about this the other day, It has proper door handles and air conditioning fitted too. £250k seems steep to me, it could only attract a premium here and maybe HK too ?

£250k does seem a bit much but with the special history a collector may pay it.

For the mileage I do in mine LHD is no problem at all. Would buy someone else with the difference in price over a LHD one.

Production was discontinued in 1992 after 1311 examples had been completed in five years, but while the F40 was only ever available from Ferrari in left-hand drive, a handful of very special cars were re-finished in right-hand drive by Pininfarina for the Sultan of Brunei. Constructed for this most avid collector at vast expense, relatively little is know about these intriguing Speciale's, only one car having made it out of captivity. All received custom-fitted leather interiors, most using Testarossa seats, instrument binnaces and door trim. New bodywork shades were used, these including Grigio, Blu and Giallo Fly.

Saw a giallo fly RHD F40 at Lancasters in Colchester a couple of years back. Was there as part of a presentation for a supercar charity run.

Asked one of the sales guys about it but couldn't (wouldn't?) say much about it sadly.

Funnily enough, if I had the cash I would prefer a LHD model anyway, seems more genuine and in keeping with how Ferrari did it, if you see what I mean...

Rod Stewart (who lives in Essex) did own a yellow F40.

Not convinced that a RHD one is worth a premium over a LHD one. Possibly no less though.

And seeing how the Sultan treats some of his cars, I'm not sure his name on the log book is such a bonus either!

That said, if I were to buy an F40 I'd seriously consider a RHD one at the right price - would use it so much more...

Would just love an F40 period!!!!
Didn't realise there were that many RHD F40's.. they look good in yellow though..
Got to go out in the F40 and F50 last year and the F40 still did it for me..
Guess my Viper will just have to do for now....

It's had quite a large overhaul since it came to the UK, so any problems caused by previous owners would have been sorted out. If it was at £225k it would have gone ages ago - especially now that 'normal' F40s are being advertised for £210 - £260k - although of course 'advertised prices' and 'sale prices' can be quite different figures. If it was an original LHD car with 3k on the clock it would be up at £200-210k in my opinion.
