I keep reading that people are adjusting their cars so that the "sound" cuts in below 3500rpm

Anyone know what needs to be done?

There's some fiddling to be done with the solenoids under the shelf behind the seats. Do a search on L-Power, or PM Joe (CharlieX) through L-Power.

I'm not sure it's worth it on your Spyder, though. It's the best sounding car I've ever heard. Sonorous and loud without the ear-bleeding pitch and 'loud all the time' of Andy C's coupe. And throaty but inoffensive at low revs. Perfect IMO.

At Marham, Ben Adnett's SV was the next loudest thing to your Spyder. And Possibly the Enzo after that.

What's nice about yours is you only make noise when you want to, whereas Andy's neighbours think there's something wrong with his all the time (there is.. the driver's a loon!).

Seeing how long it took me to work out how to put more oil in the car (BTW it's not easy on the Spyder), this sounds a bit too much like hard work

I agree. When I had my 04 Gallardo, I really wanted to fit a Tubi, but I didn't because I thought it would annoy the neighbours being permanently loud. When I tried the 06, I was thrilled. I can drive it quietly or loud - depending on my mood and where I am. Mind you, a switchable solenoid might be even better, but I've seen them give trouble on Ferraris so I won't be bothering. A Spyder must be even better than the coupe for enjoying the engine note!

My neighbours love my car, especially first thing in the morning, it gives them something to look forward to!!
When we went down to brighton i was follwing mark in an 06 Gallardo spyder. when that gets past the 3500 rpm mark and the valve opens it is seriously loud. not on par with mine but damn close.

Mike as a fine man said, theres a fine line between genius and insanity, I think i'm bordering on both at times!! see you in Anglesey!!
