Obviously depends on a load of stuff. Try AON and Nowell & Richards.

I have been thinking of Gallardo and ran details through in Elephant.co.uk. Seems really cheap quote, about £800. Thats with full no claims. I am going to use AON next as they will do better multi car policies and track cover. If you don't need track cover then footman james always worth a try, they were bestquote for the F40 this year.

Whens that F40 of yours coming back?

£800? I should snap their arms off, if I were you. Check the small print though. As you know, not all insurance policies are not necessarily the same.

I currently pay £1600, age 43, 3 points for speeding (now 9, obviously!), full NCD, protected NC, £100 excess. The excess is one area that varies enormously.

Should be back at the end of October, or beginning November.

Didn't know that Elephant quoted for Gallardos!

Nor me. Just ran a quote through, sub £900 with a £350xs.

Surely some mistake? Does'nt a bumper on one of these cost £4k+?

don't ever touch Elephant for high end cars

Why on earth after spending 80k+ on a Lamborghini would you cheap it out on Insurance?

Would you take the car to a back street garage? Would you run it on Asda petrol? probably not - but insurance, hey it's only a covernote right ... Until you need to claim, which I did when my GT3 got stolen and I was insured with Elephant/Admiral

"Yes sir, you can have a courtesy car.... A Micra"
Claim bounced between person to person in a call centre
No updates when agreed
Offer disgraceful, their inability to understand a GT3 isn't just a Carrera 2
Sub trade offer to replace a near new GT3
... And more than 9 months and intervention with the Ombudsman to reach that point

The only people to consider for these cars are CHUBB, AON, ZPC in my opinion

With Chubb, I have agreed value, I can drive any car fully comp, anyone can drive my car, in the event of a claim I pick the garage (i.e Lamborghini London) - not the insurer, fast track claim procedure and I get another Lambo whilst mine is being repaired

That's interesting - I always push my voluntary XS up to the max they'll allow (and hence pay a lower premium) on the basis that I ain't going to claim unless it's over a thousand quid or so. I've got protected NCB but a couple of claims would still increase the premium and bugger chances of shopping round for cover.

Try Michael Ward and associates, they cover lots of sports people and get remarkable rates. I have used them for the last 13 year throughout my career and they have saved me a world of money! in truth now thinking about it they may have bought one of my holiday places! I love them!!!

Fully agree with the above

I had a similar situation with Tesco.

Wanted me to use their authorised repairer who made an awful job ( nationwide crash repair) then would not fight on my behalf to recover losses from third party- so the few hundred I saved for the intial quote were soon gone.

better develop a relationship with a good broker who will work for you

I'm insured with chubb, they do everything. I'm even insured when driving abroad, Micheal Ward is my broker and as I've said for us sports men he is the bees knees. Jonny% is most definately correct in that you need to get with a broker you trust and have a good working relationship with. Michael deals with people far far richer than myself but who are not easily insured due to age and other issues but with a broker who can negotiate reason to the big insurers you will be amazed at what can be sorted. Also I know that he operates on smaller margins than most as he would rather have 10 clients paying him smaller premiums than charging massive and only having one client. He sees the bigger picture which is refreshing!
End of my endorsement, off to sit in garage and look at my car in the carcoon!!!!!

Michael Ward sounds very much like my broker Richard Nowell at Nowell & Richards (01785 255514). My Murcie & 360 is with Zurich Private clients - never made a claim but the service they provide is top notch and they understand cars. I've agreed value on the Lambo and 360.Consistently the most competitive. I also would never go through mainstream insurance co's

CHUBB Masterpiece policy is the way to go (jonny5 has highlighted the benefits).

Stay well away from normal highstreet companies.

I know what you mean, but a claim on a Lambo is always going to be a big one so every claim will involve putting your hand deeply into your pocket anyway. Only having to pull out £100 keeps me sleeping well at night.

Each to their own, eh?
