hi folks

would like to lower the 3200 and 1" to see how this helps reduce bodyroll and lower COG.

i can loosen the lower spring plate locking ring but the platform ring wont budge because there is weight on it (i.e. the spring is pushing against it). i can't get coil spring compressors on due to the double wishbone and i've tried using wire to keep the spring compressed once the wishbone is jacked but all with no success.

anyone tried this and how did you do it? do the dealers have a specialist tool to fit round the wishbones?

cheers

The only safe way to do this is remove the coil/damper unit and reset the heights that way. It is very time consuming but the only safe way to do it.

You do realize that by adjusting the ride height will affect the geometry and this will all need adjusting as well. If you don't the car will probably steer funny and chew through tyres.

Would jacking the car work to take the weight off the suspension?

nope, because the spring will still be under compression. you need to compress the spring to take the weight off the spring platform. No car will have the spring wobbling free with the car jacked :-)
