& Bugatti??
Discussion
I think it sits rite as an exclusive brand of supercar. If this forum was italian only then we'd have to have fiat and lancia etc. as well. There is a very strong rumour floating around that a good mate will be collecting his Veyron March 2007. I can say no more but pictures will hopefully follow soon.

Does that mean we will be losing Ferrari and Maserati?

mr Enzo?
Ok, since we're now discussing these things....
I was "invited" to join the Bugatti list, for an 07 prod car, and was asked to put down Eur 300k as a deposit. I'd have got a nice day somewhere on the Continent out of it, to drive the car, then waited for it to arrive sometime later next year.
Not surprisingly this made me think long and hard about what to do. I've come close to buying an Enzo a couple of times, ditto a McL F1, did buy a Carrera GT, but had never lusted after the Veyron.
In the end I decided not to do anything with this because....:
1 - I think they'll be worth 650-700k in two or three years time
2 - If you're gonna spend this kind of money on a car, throw in the extra and buy the car you really want, which won't do its nut on value, which in this case is an F1
3 - Remain unconvinced by them anyway - overly bloated, with loads of turbochargers thrown in for good measure....
The only one I've seen for sale so far took about 6 weeks to go, making me fairly sure they won't appreciate as the odd independant would suggest.
I've not been around here long enough to know whether anyone else has any strong opinions on these.....

Other than DeltaHedge who else on PH has considered/ordered a Veyron?
DeltaHedge - I am not exactly a voice of authority however I have to agree with your sentiments about the value and ROI of the Bugatti. I believe a good second hand Enzo would provide a safer investment over the next 5 years

I think most of the people that do end up putting up there redies for the car dont tend to do so for the driving experiance. they will end up doing so for the status of having the worlds fastest/most expensive car. after seing one in the flesh its a lot smaller than i thought and by no means a good looking car, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and hence id pick an slr or a black enzo over a f1 veyron or gt.

To be honest, i think most people who have a Veyron or one coming, would possibly also have an Enzo etc already. Thats certainly the case of the guy i know who has one coming early next year.
Hope to get an invite to his track day this year and get a go in the Veyron.
well the chap in question does own some other rather nice toys some of which mentioned previously. I gather from another mate that after a drive in the Veyron he was very impressed so much so that he could hardly get his words out. If he was that impressed I bloody well hope I can get to drive one but that in itself could prompt gross misuse of the cheque book. Luckily I live with a lunatic that could well turn around and say "you have got to get one of these". My reply would be "what take a mortgage out over 20 years for it". Her reply would be "don't worry you'll be dead long before you have to repay the loan".
