I've once again been very lucky to be able to shoot one of the most beautiful cars I have ever ridden in. A stunning red Ferrari F355 Berlinetta. I hope you don't mind me sharing the pics - the rest are in the "ferrari f355" gallery on my web www.justhypemedia.com - didnt want to post too many cool I am sorely tempted to get one now...

This car, chap called Scott, was an excellent example. Looked as good as new! But that engine sound......

I may have to have a look at that one for sale!

Good pictures.

This spec car was the only Ferrari I have ever driven and I hope it is not the last. Lovely Lovely motor and in my eyes the best attainable Ferrari on the road at present.

Would you choose that over a similar price 911?

If I was just buying the car then YES I would go for the F355 however you obviously have to take into account the running costs etc and this would dictate my final decision!

I hope if/when I come to buying a vehicle like this I can afford the running costs, owning a F355 would be truly fantastic.

You?

Still deciding. I use my Boxster for fun only so a Ferrari would be just as practical for what I use that car for. My Seat is my day to day runabout. I'm going to have a good think about it..... Maybe I should rent a F355 for the day and see how it feels....

I would definitely say experience it before buying and also you would have to ensure you swot up on technical knowledge so you do not buy a dud!

BUT

If you can afford it, and you want to afford it then go for the Ferrari. Dear god man how much of a boyhood dream would it be for most people to own a car like that?

As I said before I am no authority on the subject and I am sure there are many PH’s on here with more rounded advice.

PS: When you said your Boxster was garaged for long periods of time why was this? I thought the Boxster was a reliable vehicle? The reason I ask is that I am in the market for a Lotus Elise (next summer) and have driven a couple of Boxsters recently and I have to say this is the only other car I would consider. BUT if the Boxster is going to spend long periods of time in the garage then I don’t want to have to afford Porsche prices for maintenance.

The Boxster is a great car although I got an early 987 and have had a replacement from the dealer. New one has had a new roof. I would go for a Cayman again if I had the choice and the 3.2/3.4.

A ferrari may just be the way to go for me. I know i will buy one eventually but I'm in no rush to be honest. I may try a 997/996 c4s first. I do feel very lucky to have the option! I do love the Box though, even though it's been far from an easy ownership experience. I put it down to the OPC fixing it rather than the product!

Seen a silver C4S at amsportscars.com. I'm waiting to see the service inspection sheet from a recent service. Not heard back from the guy yet.

I'm basically looking for a C4S, 2003 if possible, black, seal, silver with black leather, bose, pcm, psm and a sports exhaust. Aerokit would be great. Under 40k miles pref. Not so easy to find!
