De-cat a Murcie? Again! Simon's the man!
Discussion
I think we've covered this subject before!
Simon is about to be the first of our "crew" to de-cat his Murcie ! Good for him!
I'm very intrigued to hear what it sounds like and to see what impact (if any) it has on performance.
Simon - is it an "engine-out" job to take the CAT's off?
What are the chances of getting the guys to run an emission test without the CAT's as that the only thing that would concern me - getting it through the MOT!

I'm doing it cos the engine is coming out anyway for a new oil pump and its the end of the trackday season so I've no worries about getting blackflagged. No the engine doesn't have to come out, Andy decatted his G car himself in a few hours. MOT isn't due for a year so I'll worry bout it then me thinks
Lambo's off the road this month for all of this doing but the tech bods said it will spit flames at stand still and especially on lifting off, plus they are going to richen the mixture to make the most of it. The cat bypass pipes should arrive anytime, oh and they are fitting a set of these new sports air filters at the same time. I shall let you know what it sounds like..

Excellent Simon.
Do the guys think it will pass without the CAT's? How you getting around the "check engine light" issue ? You fitting an o2 simulator??

Mate has a new murci roadster, lambo manchester told him if he fitted a tubi they would not honour the warranty
I think Simons warranty is about to expire...!
It expired a few months ago but Lamborghini have authorised a couple of things since then. The factory has cracked down on aftermarket goodies being fitted, another example is big rims which affect the traction control and driveshafts. Having said that they would only know about them if the dealer told them. With a Tubi they would still honour the warranty unless the fault in question was as a direct result of the tubi. It wouldn't affect a claim for misted up rear lenses

Shouldn't have a problem with the engine check lights if the Gallardo is anything to go by. I've had zero with the cats off compared to regular ones with just the Tubi on.
With regard to the MOT it helps knowing people in the trade, if you know what I mean.
Andy.

I guess this will depend upon where in the exhaust system the Lamba probe(s) is(are) fitted. Before the Cats and it'll not be able to detect a fault/difference. After the Cats, and an Eliminator will be required.
