3200 replacement
Discussion
I've been looking to replace my 3200 over the last few months. Have been very pleased with it, but coming it to 50K miles and I would like to move it on before it goes to much over that milestone.
Tried a DB7 but not a nice drive, thought seriously about a 550 or a 355 but don't really want to run two cars. Porsches are not my thing so have really been struggling (which is a compliment to the 3200).
So I've come full circle and now thinking of a 4200. Initially discounted that as being too similar to what I have and didn't like the manual when I test drove it. But overall a better and newer car, with the Maserati cachet, capable of daily use and good value - but will I feel like it is worth the extra outlay?
Any bright ideas?

If you a normal (and slightly boring!) there are the 911s, M3s, M5s, RS4s etc but you really need to head italian or suchlike for a true step from a maser. I moved to a 4200 spyder cambi (with tubi!!) and its defo a step up in the right direction. Next, well the inside of a 360 just doesn't do it for me, so perhaps save a bit more for a gallardo spyder, spyker
etc etc. Or you go for something dull e.g. old M3 and a kit e.g. caterham.
or get a Ducati

Thanks for the thoughts.
Robert - yep, should count blessings really.
Although I've heard its a great car, not too keen on the Gransport styling additions and interior and for current money would probably go for something else.
David - Syder is an interesting option which I have tentatively considered. They seem to be a bit cheaper than the 4200 coupes? How do you find body integrity compared to 3200? Do you miss the back seats? I had an XK convertible and I was a bit self-conscious in it with the top down to be honest, do you get a different reaction in the convertible? I suppose the big advantage is that you can hear the tailpipes...

Have you tried a Gransport? - much better to drive than the 4200
Better still (especially as our man says that he doesn't like the styling of the Gransport) get a 4200 and put Gransport springs on it. I've done this to my 4200 and it really is good.
And a tubi
To me its all about driving with the roof down. If you think the alleged scuttle shake is too much for you then get a 7 series or s class if you want something that smooth. Are they really cheaper than coupes ??? I never sat in the back so no, the boot is slightly limiting in size but you can still fit turf, bags of cement, a large palm tree and other strange things in
