Walking along Madison during a long weekend break in NYC and I spot a convoy of app 40 NYPD cars....

shortly to be followed by.....

Right place, right time and amazing to think the cars had completed 20,000 miles to get to finish that very morning down in the Financial District.

More details here - www.automotoportal.com/article/The_Ferrari_Panamerican_20.000 - absolutely fantastic to see them. Most of the passers-by had no idea what they were seeing either.

*Most of the passers-by had no idea what they were seeing either.*

thats because most of the passers by live in the bubble called 'america' and dont know whats happening outside it.

wonder what will happen to the cars now, will they strip them down for research or plonk them in the museum

but why so many cop cars? was bush driving one and blair the other???

Is this the little adventure Tiff Needel was participating in a short while ago? I seem to recall he was quietly seething about the 'kid-glove' treatment he was ordered to bestow upon the cars.

Yep, it was also featured in EVO recently.

To be honest it sounds like a damage limitation exercise. 15,000 miles through south American at 20mph then 5,000 through America on lovely tarmac.

Tiff just always has an over whelming urge to drop his right foot

I spent ages trying to find out when this was happening, eventually a fellow Ferrari enthusiast found some information for me.

Ferrari of Manhattan told me that the event ended Wednesday on Wall St
Wednesday came, down to Wall I trekked - nothing doing.

Found on on Saturday that it actually ended on Friday, whilst I was in a different part of NYC - how annoyed was I......
