3200GT - wet boot!
Discussion
Hello all - I've been running a 3200GT for a couple of months, trouble free until Friday evening: while loading up for a week-end away, I came across water lying in the (aptly-named) spare wheel well. The water seems to be clean, and since I had the car washed earlier in the week I wonder whether the jet washer has forced water in through the boot lid seal (though I can't see any sign of damage to the rubber). Anyone else had this problem or know whether it's "normal behaviour"? Also, is there anything I should know before trying to take out the boot liner to make sure there's nothing more serious going on underneath? Thanks for any advice...
Had a similar problem on my 4200. The leak was found to be due to the rubber seal around the light assembly being "crimped" on one side and the plastic trim on the rear light assembly missing on the other side!!. Just a hint where to look - although the rear lights on the 3200 are different, but probably mounted the same way in the bodyshell.
discovered a similar problem last week (actually below the boot spare wheel carpet). i was removing the bumper and in order to do so had to remove the boot carpets.
i noticed that on the left (passenger) side that the boot has a vent to the wheel arch, this had fallen away and let in water (wheel spray) i guess. it is about the size of a letter box. it doesn't exist on the right side.
