Lambo soft-top wins TG award

It's the editors' dream car, apparently

none
The Top Gear awards have shaken up the industry from its pre-Christmas lethargy, with Lamborghini the latest to shout about its award.

The 520bhp V10-propelled convertible was voted into the dream car category’s first place by a team of judges from Top Gear TV and magazine, including Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond and magazine editor Michael Harvey. The award was officially presented to Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, at a glittering Top Gear ceremony in London.

The 195mph supercar joined the winners’ line-up in a photo shoot in Mumbai. The magazine includes a review of the Spyder by Emma Parker-Bowles and Bollywood film star Akshay Kumar, with Jeremy Clarkson commenting, “We telly boys think the best, most fun car to emerge all year was Lambo’s new soft-top.”

The £131,000 Gallardo Spyder was officially launched at Frankfurt Motor Show in autumn 2005. UK deliveries started this year, from the four official dealerships in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

But if another car was better, surely he would have bought that instead.

All depends on whether he got a 'discount' or not...

I would probably take a M6 soft-top over that . Better than giving the award to something boring like the C Max (whatever that is) though.

Clarkson says he's refused discounts, even free cars in the past, because if he accepted them, he'd be open to accusations of bias.

He does apparently refuse discounts - but then it's not like he can't afford it - his income must be 7 figures per annum!

Has he sold the Ford GT or is he keeping it?

i cant comment without seeming biased, but all i'll say is that the car has exceeded all my expectations & i doubt i'd buy another ferrari.

and the public seem to love it more than any other car i've owned.

The funny thing is I find exactly the opposite.

I had nothing but positive and appreciative comments with both the Ferraris but I get loads of grief and abuse in the Gallardo, mainly from olds to be honest who all seem to look at you like you've just killed a relative.

Doesn't bother me mind, still love the car.

That sound track from the V10 is absolutely insane, he was right it did sound better than the tubi on his old gallardo.
