Hi all,

Had my 3200GT some months now, and had the 31K service done. As the cold weather is kicking in, the engine seems to be stuttering a little on first start up. Once warmed up, after 10 mins or so, it's fine.

It's also taking a little longer to fire the engine recently when turning over the key. Not a hugely long time, but noticable

Any ideas?

I'm not experiencing any of those and was out in it all weekend.

Am I correct in thinking that you have yours in a dehumidified garage????

Still think you are reaping the rewards of garaging it.

Guys

was out in mine all weekend and had to have it parked in the open in damp and chilly Kent overnight.

Next day started like a dream...and still drives like one

I think damp and cold take a while to get round all of the car. If you garage them, your going to be on a winner

...oh, joy of joys, my 'CODE' light has just come on (and now gone off).......damp pants again!!

Might be, or lack of charge as I'm using the winter electrics more (seats, demist. lights etc) for 10 minute journeys. I only drive it a little through the week as I use my company car for daily jaunts.

I'll give the Mas some miles over Xmas and see how it holds up.

Cheers

Invest in a trickle charger or put one on your xmas list. with low battery power these cars do all kinds of strange things.

Mine lives outside in all weathers and can be a bit lumpy sometimes but generally seems ok in the cold / wet. Had a lot a bad rain recently in the Midlands and got a check engine light staying on. Spoke to Mario at Autoshield and he said probably be because of the rain - went back to the Maz that night and the engine light was off and all ok!!
Did have a starting problem recently though, which turned out to be the crankshaft firing sensor. Took a bit of finding but its worth bearing in mind if you have some starting problems. The way the sensor is fitted can lead to weathering and then a fail. The engine will turn over and over but will just not fire. This was intermittant and very frustrating. It only cost 14 quid for the part from `Graypaul` but could take hours and hours to find.

Had exactly the same fault on my Alfa Sportwagon, it would not start if you warmed the car up then left it for about 45mins. £14 and an hour to fit, probably the same part.
