Was filling up my washer fluid as the cold weather kicks in and everytime I poured in some fluid, the tube overflowed in seconds. Some fluids actually were going down the tube, but slowly.

I;m presuming this isn't normal (taking 15mins to fill up the fluid) and that I have a blockage of some kind. Anyone recommend any cleaning agent that ain't gonna eat my paintwork or am I better off with a wire pipe-cleaner type brush.

Cheers

This problem is very easily sorted; there is a filter just inside the washer bottle filling tube neck which slows down the rate at which water enters the bottle considerably, just stick your finger in and pull it out, and then you'll find that you can refil the bottle easily. yes

noticed the very same problem, and tried the same fix. My filler tube is tucked right under the bonnet edge seal, so cannot open the lid enought the get the filter basket out. Friday afternoon fitter I suppose
It looks an identical part to Fiat Putno we have so will just snap off the lid at next refill. Or maybe get a new washer lid thing first.

Just for the record (and for future people Googling this problem) the problem was indeed the filter bucket tucked just inside the tube.

Thanx all.
