I was in my (new to me) Maserati 4200GT on my short commute this morning, and followed a black Diablo VT roadster into town (presumably on its way to Carrera Sport). Just wondered if it was anyone on this forum? Looked and sounded fabulous...

Loving my 4200 btw. I picked her up from Carrs in Exeter in December folowing several years of owning sensible German metal (Boxster, M3, SLK). Its great to be in a car with real soul now. Can't get enough of that V8 roar!

Hi Mark,
How are you enjoying the 4200? what year/colour etc did you get?
I use mine every day - its a fab every day car.. Although just now, is not a great time of year to properly play...

John,

I know what you mean about the weather... you've got to go very easy with the right foot when its greasy!

My car is a 53 reg GT (manual). Nero Carbonio / full Nero leather, 22k miles, full spec minus the nav (which doesn't bother me at all) and she has the later model 7-spoke wheels.

Great combination of 4-seat space, understated good looks and thunderous pace and noise. We had an SLK 350 similar to yours - my wife used to drive that all the time, but hasn't plucked up the courage to try the Maser yet!

Nice...., good combination.. as you have discovered... they really are fantastic cars, understated, powerful, great fun to drive, and such a lovely engine... I have two daughters, so a 4-seater coupe is perfect for me... Mine's the CC version (which I love)... As I said, go very carefully in the 'grease' - had a fairly spectacular sideways moment a few days ago when I was aiming to just keep under the 'limit'.... (not only did I find the limit, it was fairly exciting and scary all at the same time)......

My wife has occasionally driven the Maser, but only when I'm with her.... your wife will be fine... probably a bit overwhelmed by the car (and your driving!!)....

Hope you might join us at our next 'meet' - we try to arrange a regular East London meet (Beckton area).. the next one is probably Sunday 4th Feb - keep an eye out for the posts.. I always try to encourage the Italian V8s to come out to play....

John
