Hi there,

A story in todays Autosport reports that Team Modena / Lamborghini Wycombe are to run two Lamborghini Gallardos in the 2007 British GT Championship.

Here is a snippet from the press release.

"Lamborghini Gallardos planned for British GT

Team Modena are in the running to enter 2 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 cars in this years British GT championship. Team Modena successfully ran it's Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 car last year in the LMES and the Le Mans 24 hour race last year and would use it's stellar engineering team to get the cars at the sharp end of the grid. The Team are part of an engineering group which includes Lamborghini Wycombe - the only non-retail Official Lamborghini Service Centre.

Graham Schultz - Team Modena CEO and Lamborghini Wycombe head told Racecar:

"As an official Lamborghini service centre - the deal makes perfect sense for us - we know the Gallardo model inside out - as I speak we have 12 Gallardos in our workshops for repair and service work and the race team can't wait to get their hands on the racecars and start the engineering process. We have had dialogue with Hans Reiter for a while of Reiter Engineering and recently built a GT3 inspired roadcar for one of our clients using Reiter Engineering components - the opportunity to run 2 cars from our base came up and we are close to making an official announcement."

Can't wait to see these on track battling against Porsche 997's and Aston Martin DBRS9's.
Saw the FIA GT3 Gallardos last year at Silverstone and although they were a little of the pace they did look superb.

Regards

Tim

I chatted with Graham at Lambo Wycombe about these cars this evening, sounds well exciting. They are sure they can get their new Gallardo's on the pace for the season.

They are going to look great in the grey/black Team Modena colours and GT kits on them.

Hi there,

I think you're right they will look great in the Black/Grey livery, just hope that they don't go with the same colour wheels that they run on their DBR9.

Thanks for the heads up, Tim.

I'm sure Graham and his team are no mugs, and appreciate the amount of work required to make a non-Ferrari/911/Corvette machine remotely competitive in GT racing.
Someone is going to need VERY deep pockets but Reiter are very good at what they do and have a lot of data to work with.
Anyone who's familiar with racing will know it takes a phenomenal amount of effort just to qualify and finish, let alone get a podium.
I look forward to seeing the cars in action. Actual results would be a bonus at this stage.
Forza Lamborghini!
