Lambo Gallardo Spyder
Discussion
hi, i'm new to this board and currently drive a Porsche 997S cabrio...but i have just ordered a Gallardo Spyder for delivery in July/August. I am in the process of speccing up the car and i have some questions.
Does anyone know the difference between the bi-colour sportive and elegant interiors? are these different seats?
Also whats exactly does "leather pack 1" include? is that seat stitching and piping? the order guide is not very helpful at all!
In terms of colours i'm thinking non pearl met white with bi-colour white/black interior...whats general opinion on this...a little too pimped out?
In terms of other options i'm keeping it fairly simple: 6 speed/heated seats/sat nav/callisto wheels/branding pack and leather pack.
TIA

Thought about the carbon pack and it does look the nuts but at 6k can't help thinking thats a bit of a rip-off! may add it on once i see it in the flesh...never seen a car with it fitted though.
Saw the pearl white in person and i thought it looked too silvery...preferred the plain white...loved the pics of the plain white LP640 on here too!

I am also new here. and I recently asked a similar question. Various people on here gave some helpful replies:

Getting the definitive descriptions of the side-dishes that are on the menu does seem to be unduly difficult.
My order form has 'dual sportive' on it which (I hope) means the seat bum and back cushions will be one colour (light grey in my case) and the rest of the seats will be another colour (black). Specifying 'dual sportive' apparently also causes the interior door panels, etc, to be detailed in the two colours. Having 'dual sportive' apparently also accommodates my desire to have light grey stitching throughout. [You could also have the stitching colour reversed out if you wanted. However, the factory has declined my request (or rather, that of my style advisor) to put white stitching throughout on the black and light grey leather, at any price.]
I have subsequently established that specifying 'leather pack 2' will cause the two colour malarkey to be repeated on the transmission tunnel area, and I have added that to the spec (in preference to the carbon fibre pack option that some of the good folk
here have suggested). 'Leather pack 2' apparently also replaces the standard door cill kick-plates with stainless steel ones :-/
I do not know what 'leather pack 1' is. Nor do I know what you have to ask for if you want contrast coloured piping.
On reflection, I also added the BlueTooth option.
Maybe some of that will be of some help.

pearl white's far nicer than flat IMHO

Don't think they are currently doing Pearl White - some problem with getting a colour match
Rather than try and answer the spec questions, I'll try and find the pictures I've got at home which explain what all the options are
Make sure you get heated electric seats - otherwise its a bit cold to drive with top down in winter
The Carbon Pack is really good - but don't buy it unless you are going to keep the car as you will never get the money back when you sell it
Even if you don't get the Carbon pack, imo you should get the wheel in either carbon or alcantra. I was driving driving standard MY07 cars last weekend and I think the standard steering wheel looks cheap and crap
If you are getting the Nav System (which is a must, if nothing else because it lets you use the MP3 cards) then you might as well spend the extra £200 and get the computer as well
If you are going for white, I think you should ask for the Black "Nero" Callisto wheels
I've got the non-metallic white which is called Bianco Cygnus. It looks stunning IMHO and I much prefer it to the metallic balloon white. The elegant interior means all of the seat facing is in a single colour. The Bi-colour option means the the outer edges of the seat base and seat back are one colour, with the central sections in a different colour. I have the elgant interior in Bianco Polar so I've pimped my ride

isuk stunning car you have there. enjoy
asm: BTW, if you're still listening:
One thing I did establish for certain during the course of a test run around my local manor with the estimable Bruce Compton, is that the front lifting suspension trick is essential in order to avoid the car grounding out on the humongous speed barnacles that the local council has scattered around the place like a pox on the face of the roadscape.
It was also needed in order to get the car across the dip on the way in to my garage (and I would imagine also in order to negotiate the ramps in yer bog-standard multi-storey).
I'm sure the folks here that have a real car (as opposed to those of us who, like me, are painfully slowly shuffling our way forward in the queue) can say more about that.
Bruce is top drawer. He most certainly rose to the challenge of proving it is possible to manoeuvre the thing into my garage. Only a few neighbours complained about the smell of burning clutch or sent laundry bills. For all I know, we're still sending food parcels in to him in there.
Strangely, apparently, I rather like the standard MY07 steering wheel.
Apropos the wider issue of colour schemes, and whether they may seem overly pimped out, I suppose it depends upon towards which extreme of the dope-dealer likelihood spectrum you would want to position yourself. I continue to be surprised at the reaction an SL gets in Tottenham High Road on the infrequent occasions I pass by that way.

Appreciate the input guys (esp timbol and traxx), looks like i'll be getting a carbon or alcantara steering as well now, the alu type one does look a bit cheap!
Which dealer are you getting it from?
Traxx,
Spotted you on Kings Road last night, the car did look and sound great. Second of three spiders I saw in London yesterday. Your G spider was the first one I saw on the road last summer, in Putney - brightens up the day somewhat.
