want to get a warranty for my 3200 AC. I dont currently have a warranty and am thinking that given the age, it is a 2001 with 25k miles, this might be worthwhile...where is the best place to source one?
Also head gasket has a 'tiny' leak according to main dealer that it is having its service with, but wont need replacing for 2 years or so. Would this be covered if i got a warranty?
Help appreciated boys

Simpress, I use Lancasters in Colchester - bought it there, use them for servicing etc.
They only extend their 'Trident' warranty for one year (beyond the standard 3 year) only. After that, they are able to offer 'Aon' Warranties on older 4200s and 3200s. Paul Smith is the guy to call.
Regards,
john

Try this company: Warranty Works. Just taken out a 3 year extended warranty on my 4200 Cambiocorsa for £1,539.00 inclusive. You can contact them on 08000430917. Talk to Stuart. Before taking out the warranty I had it checked by Dick Lovett @ Cardiff and they said it was fine. Works out at £500.00 per year & if you negotiate they will even include 12 months call assist breakdown insurance (£80.00 worth).

Any pre known fault/problem would not normally be covered by your warranty.
The price for that 3 year warranty is really good, and you should take a good look at it.
In my experience, you pretty much get what you pay for.. when looking for mine, I had a good look around, and could have got a really cheap warranty, but the cover it gave reflected the price.... just make sure you check out a few things:
do they pay £110 per hour for main dealer fees for work?
what is the limit per claim? these can be expensive beasts to fix if something goes badly wrong? and is there a maximum number of claims you can make, or a maximum value of claims you can make?
Will they cover Maserati parts etc...
Cheers,
John

I did all the necessary checking and all of these aftermarket care warranties are the same. The one I have chosen does cover the "approved" repair of Maserati and it in sonly in the past few years that the cost has reduced as the quality of production and assembly has improved. Of course the warranty is limited to an upper-linit of claim value - but to have something is better than nothing - and so far I do not know of a 4200 Engine expiring - or any major faults being manifest in the later cars (2003 - onward)
