Exotic car requirement for more than 2 people.....
Discussion
OK, so if 2 seats isn't enough and apart from a 3 seat Mclaren, what else is there that's exotic as the Murci but can cope with the demands of the occasional extra little person (under 5yrs old)? Is it only 2 seater cars that have this appeal in the market place?
Trying to sort out my dilema of having me + Fi + child and still keep it different and exotic.

Keeping a List:
Ferrari 612
AM Vanquish (inc rear east option)
Bentley Conti GT

Paul, dont discount keeping the Murci and getting a nice cheap 996 Turbo (you can get a good one with all the bits for less than £50k now) - they are really practical and have perfectly good rear seats for kids up to about 8 years old. They also arent as mileage sensitive as some of the Italian marques, so you could use it as your work/business tool too + servicing is cheap as chips compared to Italian stuff. I love my 997C2S for everyday stuff, it can take a right hammering and loads of miles - and its dead practical.
I have young kids, and I love going out in the Lambo with my little lad for 'lads adventures' - its a real father-son moment. Keep the Murci mate, you will still use it for special occasions for sure.

Ok, here's what me and Fi have been discussing:
Sell my Murci mid summer, but place order for new car now. My thoughts are only for the LP640 and have been for a few weeks now, thats why I have organised a test drive in both the egear Murci and the LP640. Fi needs to be able to drive the car and we both likes paddles, so it is possble that we are really looking for a car for about 9months after the birth of our kid in June. So it could be a newer egear Murci coupe/roadster or it could be a egear LP640 as the timing would be just right if we placed order today. But I just wanted to see if we were missing anything that could serve all 3 of us. Fi is up for a Roadster now but it would have to be egear.
We both have decent luxury daily's at the moment so it's just the toy aspect we are trying top sort out. I was probably a bit hasty and never seen longer term what would be needed I just knew I could live with a manual Murci.

Forget four seats then. Test the Manual and EGear 640s and make your choice.
BTW not sure many "exotic" 2+2s would actually have the space to allow a rear facing child seat to be fitted in the back (As needed for the first 6 months+).

The cars in your current list are big heavy GT Cruisers though Paul, no way are they worthy replacements for a Murci (IMHO of course)
If you are going to add the Bentley GT to the list you should add the GTC also (if you are considering Cabs)
Also the new Maser GT comes out in July - that looks pretty nice from what I've seen (and starting at just £70k too)

Could try both, but I don't think there is a manual for trying mate.
On the other comments:
1. I was just making sure we weren't ruling out any cars by looking at 2+2's but it has to be exotic and think the AM is the only one in the list I'd look at.
2. If my text makes any sense, what I mean is we'll look to collect a new car after 9 months of the baby being born (March 08 onwards) so this rear facing thing won't apply I believe.
Cheers
Paul
I explored this dilemma only a few weeks ago. Our Daughter is two years old and current car ownership is a Diablo SV and a Diesel A8. We were at JCT600 in Leeds where they have both Aston Martin and Bentley dealerships side by side. Discount the Vanquish because the rear seats are so tight that a) you cannot fit a child seat and b) a toddler will kick the back of the front seats until they shred. The Continental GT is perfect in comparison, plenty of room in the back and access is easy too. Boot space is also good which has made our mind up to keep the Lambo and trade the Audi against the GT this summer. Bentley also supply dedicated child seats. Believe me, these little sprogs grow up quick.

imo Keep the lambo (cost to change too great) and pick up a Conti-GT they are fast becoming great value cars. From my friends in the know you will want a car which you can get away for a bit on your own !
Bloody great advice!
You can pick up a Conti GT for low £70's if you can find a good car broker who will get you one for pretty much trade price.
And re: having a car you can get away in - couldnt agree more. Sometimes you will REALLY need to just drive off into the sunset for some 'you time' - rugrats can really put a lot of pressure on life. Its mainly all good, but can be somewhat stressful at times. I sometimes just get in the Lambo on my own and just drive all day - wack some great tunes on and just go.
Right we need to clear something up here. I already have 2 decent cars, which are 4/5 seaters. I plan to sell the Murci in June for several reasons:
1. Baby has arrived so no time to use it.
2. Fiona/myself would prefer a newer model and she wants to be more involved in the purchase as she feels it's purely my car at the moment
3. Fiona would love the car to be capable of taking 3 and still be to my requirments which is someething exotic
4. Fiona feels that the manual Murci isn't suited for her driving and would prefer a paddle shift gearbox, and also the fact that I've had a few issues which could have been life threatening in the car, she doesn't have any confidence in the car and gets all worried about me out in it!
5. I need a daily which I can goto clients in which is professional but not flash, i.e. my A6.
6. I want something newer than my current Murci and would prefer it under Manufacturer Warranty
7. New if possible to spec colours and options

I took the Lambo for a spin this evening on my own. On my return the Wife asked "Why didn't you take me?". Ummh, I thought, if only she knew the speeds I was travelling at. When the Wife is in the car she always says what a careful, considerate driver I am

Of the three you list, I'm not sure your other half would swoon over the Vanq like you would. Plus, the gearboxes are still not that well thought of.
If you were to take her to an Aston dealer, however, I suspect she may swoon over a DB9. Maybe a convertible? Both possibly a bit sedate for you - but when you've got the nipper with you, maybe you need (and will want) something like that, but with a bit of poke when needed?
612 and Conti may do it for her too. Really like the 612. I hate Contis.
There isn't that much else out there at the moment that's nice with > 2 seats.

What you been doing Paul???
Well Paul, at the last track day in Jan, on the way home my left front driveshaft bolts came loose and eventually sheered off cutting through the brake lines and it turned out that the other side wasn't looking too good either!!
