Help me learn to post my pics please!

I am still trying to learn how to post an image from my 'My pictures' file onto these forums. CUE99T kindly tried to explain with using imageshack but I got totally screwed up.
Can some give me idiots guide with links etc?

1. www.tinypic.com

2. Upload your file (normally a .jpg file)

3. Find the code (on the tinypic site after your pic has uploaded successfully) that starts with [IMG] and engs with [/IMG]

4. Highlight that code, and copy it (usually control and C keys together)

5. Paste the copied code into your pistonheads post (usually control and V keys together)

6. THIS IS IMPORTANT: Change the [IMG] bit to [ PIC ] (without the spaces inside the brackets - I had to do that or my post would be reformatted by Ted's hamsters)

6a. Change the [/IMG] to [ /PIC ] - again, without the spaces inside the brackets.

Think you may need to resize it before you upload,

do you have photoshop?

PH resizes to 750 pixels wide for display, but it still loads the full size image! If you click it will go full size.

Resizing pics can be tricky depending on the software you have. Google's Picassa is *apparently* a good package, but I have not even seen it let alone used it. Perhaps some other PHers have and can recommend one way or the other.

You can leave IMG in the brackets. It works as well as PIC nowadays.
