Gallardo....

Last two mornings trundled as quietly as possible to the end of my road, hit the brakes, no servo assistance, brake pedal like concrete. Interesting. Sorts itself out within a minute or two, tho strangely brake pedal ok when manoevering out of the parking space straight after startup.

Any ideas? Sitting outside idleing for 2 mins as per recent thread will not endear me to neighbours.

Handbrake's good though.

You're the first person ever to say the Gallardo has a good handbrake! Don't trust it when you're parked. Always leave the car in gear, just to be on the safe side. Seriously.

On the subject of idling, as I mentioned before, it's only necessary if the car isn't really being moved far (i.e. just out of the way, to get the Veyron out ). If you're acually going somewhere, just get on with it. You neighbours will be friendly again, which is a bonus.

As far as the brakes go. Hmmm? Definitely an odd one and I should get it looked at, pronto. I'm presuming there's no scraping noise (like you get with ccast irons when they've furred up a bit)? I'm also assuming you've had a look at pads and discs just to make sure there isn't excessive wear on either?

I used to get something similar from the 911, I believe if you "pump" the brakes it creates the same thing on the 911's and I'm sure a mechanic could explain it. I can't remember the reason, my lights used to come on too when this happened.

yep all good on the condition of the brakes, even checked the fluid. It may be a coincidence that it's happened in this cold snap as it didn't happen last time we had snow! It's definitely more an issue with servo 'pressure' or however it works.

always leave it in gear when parked.

Never had any issues with the brakes on mine at all, even at warp speed round Donington. Get it checked out ASAP to be safe. The handbrake on the gallardo is always good for the first time after its adjusted then just crap again. As Mike says always leave it in gear!
