I needed to have a wheel done on my car tried wicked wheels they couldnt 100% match the paint and wanted £75 that was just to repair the damage. So I ended up taking them to Lepsons in Kent who charged £53 for the whole wheel to be striped back to metal all damage repaired at resprayed. Yes it did take 4 days but the finish was outstanding. They do do a 24hour turn around but I think you pay slightly more.

I second lepsons if you want a proper baked factory finish. The rest are just tart n turn merchants for car dealers to malke the cars look good on their sales pitch but dont last.

How much do you charge for a small scuff to a wheel then mate? just as a cost comparison?

I had all 4 of my 996TT wheels done by Wicked Wheels last year (Guildford branch)
Did a great job and got charged £210 inc vat.

The car was with them most of the day, they ran me home & back & also the chap in charge said did I want to take a record of the mileage of the car when i dropped it off - to put my mind at rest that no-one would be driving it at all. So all very good.

I had all four done on my S4 cost me £280 so you got a better deal than me but they did a good job. They took about half a day and did it and my work premises that is they come to you if you want.

Sy the Ferrari wheels are magnesium and this might make a difference. Lancasters price matched Wicked wheels and id all four for me on the 355.

So what method do you use.

I am not sure how a mobile outfit can match the quality i.e. check for roundness and run out, shot blased or diamond cut, degreased, prepared, primed, 2 pack painted in a baked, lacqured.

The ones I had seen done by mobile repairers look fine for the first few weeks but then start to flake- but would be happy to hear how you do it to prevent this.

Well, i agree, there are some shocking companys out there, i do however like to think we are not one of them.

My lads come across bad workmanship day in day out,sad to say that most people go on price, or for the big company image.

All our work comes with a 12 month warranty, and ive been doing this 6 yrs and never had a comeback.

A record im very proud off,

Its a fast changing industry, alloy wheel refurbishment, every tom, dick and harry think they can buy a £3.99 cd from fleabay, and away you go, earnings of £500 a day, if only it was that easy. My vans are 40k a piece to put out on the road.

Thats a lot of alloys at £50 ish to recoup.

On the basis of your recommendation of these Chaps Jonny, I tried to make contact with them. Their workshop phone just rang out or clicked to an answerphone machine that just hung up on me. I then emailed them, only to receive a response about 5 days later saying that they are "very busy" and they "dont often get the time to call people back". At this point I concluded that I care not how good they might be, if they cant treat potential customers properly and with a smidgeon of respect.
