Just thought I'd let the new 3200 drivers see what you can get from a full tank.

I haven't refilled yet so don't know the exact MPG but 400 is the best I've got so far.

I drove from Stoke to Swansea and back, plus a slight detour, total 402 miles.

Most likely in 6th at 55mph and never troubling a turbo keeping the revs <2k....

Mine usually did around 15 mpg - maybe 20 if sedately driven or even low 20s on a longish run on the motorway.

Certainly more than 55 as I did the trip back in sub 3 hours. (But I'm not saying by how much)

Mr Tony is right to a point as I didn't accelerate much as the traffic was fairly steady and not a lot in the outside lane to require braking / acceleration.

Someone once said on here that they don't use a great deal more fuel up to 100.

I don't know if that's true though.

well, at 400 miles that means you would have to average 20mpg and run the tank dry, fair play - that would take some very frugal driving and i guess totally defeat the purpose of the 3200GT!

Round town and when playing outside suburbia mine does 14mpg (ish) or a bit less eek I did however manage 24mpg over two hours in France on the Peage - driving at about 90mph and stopping for the toll booths. I was very (pleasantly) surprised.

Well - it is supposed to be a "Grand Tourer"

I'd go along with what Bath says.

I must admit that when making my buying decision the "official" figure of 15mpg did become a consideration when considering "whole life costs". In the end I went for the 22mpg + reasonable servicing costs on my CLK55 AMG. It isn't a Maserati, but there are both pros and cons associated with that.

I've seen quite a few postings suggesting that the official mpg figures for the Maserati use US gallons but I don't believe that.

drove about 350 miles myself last week from stranraer to somewhere in wales. drove from 12am to about 5am. stopped a few times for fuel / rest but sat about 90-100 most of the way and got between 18 and 22 mpg on fill ups.

beats my normal weekly average of 12-14 :-)

I think it's more to do with steady speed than anything else. My route was (after urban 10 miles) M6 (60 mph ish), bad traffic on approach to M5, M5 ran mostly well, M50 clear, A40 clear apart from about 4 roundabouts and a set of traffic lights and it's a really good road, M4 was 70 ish, road into Swansea temp traffic lights and a lot of roundabouts.

Journey back was better - apart from a small queue on the M4 near Cardiff, I had no hold ups and this makes the difference, IMHO.

I don't know the laws regarding admitting speed on a messageboard so I won't!!?
