I am posting this on behalf of my Father-in-Law, who is having a bit of trouble with Scuderia Systems in Egham, and want to know who else here has dealt with them, and if you have used anyone else?

We went over there 5 weeks ago to to order a Tubi Exhaust for his 4200 CC. He paid cash upfront, and was told it would take 2 weeks, and he could bring his car back to have the system fitted. We dealt with a guy called Manu.

Obviously it has been 5 weeks now, and still no exhaust. The delays are one thing, but what really p****s him off is the fact that Manu never calls when he says he will.

My Father-in-Law now wants to ring and ask for his money back. Although he knows you can get other exhaust systems for this car, he feels that the Tubi exhaust will be the best.

Has anyone else here had similar experiences with Scuderia Systems?
Has anyone else got a non Tubi upgrade exhaust on their 4200, if so how is it?
Can you buy Tubi exhasuts anywhere else? (we are based in Kent)

Not heard of problems before and I know many PHers who've bought systems from them. Guessing the factory must be messing them around with supply, not an excuse for returning calls though. Even so I'd still hang on for the tubi as I know the system on bluesatin's 4200 sounded magnificent.

Apologies for this not being constructive to the thread, but ballpark, what does a Tubi cost on a 4200?

Cheers

I think its safe to say that the delay lays at the factories end, I've dealt with Manu in the past and he's always been on the ball with anything I've had.

Bear with it as a Tubi'd Maser sounds awesome

Got Larinis on my 3200, very, very loud, but only at 1-2k rpm, very sedate at cruise.

Paid £850+VAT for them from Larini Systems, highly recommend them.

Had a slight problem I noticed once they had been fitted, I had a manufacturing scuff on one tip, got wet and developed a nice rust mark......Larini got intouch with my garage, arranged to send another and pay for the fitting and sort our the return.

Full credit to them. I have heard both Larini and Tubi, and preferred the Larini....and saved myself £500 over buying Tubi.

If they are made of solid decent stainless they would not go rusty full stop. Sure the tips aren't chromed steel?

In my experiance, tips of most stainless systems are chromed steel, then again, Larini assured me that it was full stainless, its just one of those things I suppose, and they did sort it out no fuss and they do come with a life warranty, so I am not that bothered.

The fact they were so promt to sort it is good enough to satisfy me....especially when their main competition, Tubi, are not playing ball by the sound of it.

I just run baffled tailpipes on mine...no rear backboxes.

Its and smidge louder than the tubis Ive heard but the cost is only around £3-400 and any exhaust fabricator can make them.

The sound however is supercar epic!

Update:

Just after I posted this thread, Manu got in touch with some arrangements to get the exhaust fitted at Verdi on Sat 21st.

So we went up there to get them fitted, there was quite a lot of waiting around but we prefered not to rush them, and they made a lot of effort to get the tips lined up just right in the bumpers.
My Father-in-Law was well please to say the least with the result, and they realy do sound great, loud, but not too loud (I think) but with a real qaulity tone to them. So thanks to all the replys.

The highlight of the day was on the way home we wanted to have lunch so we came back via Egham as there is a nice pub I know near Maranello. After lunch we popped over to Maranello across the road so we could have a look, and I could say hello to some old colleages of mines (Ive not been in there since I worked there about 14 months ago) and it just so happened that they had a bit of a 60th do the night before and they had gathered together some very rare cars to display including:

275 GTB
512 LM Racecar
Some kind of Dino Race car
F40
365 California.....one of my all time favourites, and one of only 2 RHD cars ever made! Anyone got any idea what this car might be worth?

And quite a few others Ive forgotten now and even more that had already been taken away.

On a seperate note there was also a Lambo Gallardo Spider out in the back storage yard in a very feminine looking baby blue, with matching leather.

Kind of puts me off getting Tubi's if the wait is 5+ weeks!

I had an Eisenmann made for me in germany for my M3 a few years ago....£800 and delivered within 7 days - great service.

Anyone know of a quicker route to Tubi ownership?? why did it take 5 weeks? I want them now really

Thanks

Steve

I think they make them in batches, mine were about 7 days from order to delivery, which is good.

Sounds like you got in there just after the batch had been made.
