Ferrari birthday blaze
599 burns in Holland

Bad news, but not as bad as loosing your house to fire....
I have just moved back in after a £235,000 claim.
It's only a car, although a very very nice one.
I must say the insurance co's are rubbish though, always looking for reasons not to pay. I also lost a MK1 Golf GTI in the blaze (tucked up in the garage). The classic policy insurers offered £900 for a 73,000 mile standard unabused car in brilliant condition. Worth £4-5k any day of the week.

Personally i would argue the toss the with Classic car insurers until they come up with a satisfactory figure. If you still get no joy then go to the financial services ombudsman and he'll look at the claim and circumstances. All insurance companies take the piss unless you get a mutually agreed assured worth/valution in writing from the insurers at the beginning of the policy, and that way you will recoup somewhere near the cars true worth. Otherwise they will rip you off.
