Hi Guys

My break light has gone, I normally never touch my cars (mechanically)always drop them into the garage but was wondering how difficult it was to change and can you get the bulb from a halfords for example?

Thanks

They sell Gallardo bulbs in Halfords!!?? I always remember seeing Jeremy Clarkson trying to buy a turbo for a EB110 in one of his programmes........

I'd imagine its a standard VAG part? Buying should be easy, changing it on the other hand...

ETA: Can you *PLEASE* take a photo of the 17 year old shop assistants face when you ask for a bulb for a Gallardo? thumbup

So you think Lambo make special bulbs just for the Gallardo - I wouldn't think so. Bet anything you like you can get a replacement bulb from Halfords for it.
As already mentioned, its probably German bulb that you also find in a Polo or something.

Take the rear wheel off, remove the wheel arch liner and you can access the rear lights from here - but be warned, it's a tight fit, so do it when the exhaust is cold otherwise you might come out with a few battle scars!

You are joking right? There must be a better way to get access to change the bulb rather than jacking up the car and taking the wheel off?!

Got the bulb or at least what the guy thought was the bulb - apparently they don't have lambo items in there book, so he had to come and look at the car with the lights on and somehow he guessed which one it was?!

Miyagi...

so, you are looking an easy solution for a very simple problem on your Gallardo

hmmmm,

I'm sure that's the sound of some quite cynical laughter I can hear wafting over the airwaves from a Sant' Agata-ish direction!

Lamborghini cars may be a little more user friendly these days but they are still not 'flip-out bulbs with your fingernails' friendly, as yet...

Grrrr!! It's just a light bulb not a drive shaft I need to change lol

Oh well it's going into the garage on Fri for an ECU upgrade so I guess I'll have to let them do it!

as with your clutch & gearbox problem, tell the dealer who sold you the car to sort it. I thought you only just pickedd it up?

Yea I haven't long had it but I think it's a bit far fetched to ask the dealer to fix the light lol I don't mind, it's just a learning curve owning a super car!

Ok if that's an hours labour, fair enough. I do hope that they changed all the bulbs in that rear lamp cluster for that price though. You don't want to be going back next week if the reverse lamp fails...

For your info, if it's not got LED rear lamps on it, all the bulbs for the rear lamps will be available from any Halfords or Motor Factors. Halfords will probably fleece you £2 per bulb. Motor factor 30p or so.

Good luck.

Nope it was half an hr's labour (at least thats what they said I didn't examine the receipt)

No they didn't change all the bulbs - this is lambo we are talking about.

If any of my lights go again I shall be jacking the car up myself!!!

Yes I know I actually brought two lights from halfords but the charge for the bulb from Lambo was only £1.50ish if I remember correctly.
