faulty F355 spider roof anyone??
Discussion
I've read a couple of nightmarish tales of faulty tops. The roof in the car I am getting seemed fine in the garage although slow (normal). Does anyone know any way of pre-empting faults with the mechanism through inspection/service etc. and any (sensible)tips if the worst should happen?
couple of tips;
ensure hydraulic fluid level's ok.you'll hear mechanical grinding if it's low
don't put anything in passnger footwell that will interupt the roof open/close cycle
before you buy the car cycle the roof up and down several times.
Sequence is doors closed/handbrake on, unlatch roof and push back till you hear a beep. Seats move all the way forward, hood closes , seats move back to last position.Operation should be smooth and noise free.
