That is mighty impressive and must be awesome on the road
One question though, has the car been put on aftermarket management or have you re-mapped the standard ecu ? I'm sure there may be other mods but i'll let you decide if you want to share them with us

That's what I was wondering. Nonetheless the performance must be mind-boggling.
The car runs a pectel aftermarket ecu and eight injectors - that is the only mod to the car
The original magnetti marelli ecu is very dated these days and was not really that good in the first place !
I was able to optimise the car to allow it to give its best possible performance, and make sure it was not overstressed or under excess load
The car could easily make over 600 hp if it was leaned out a bit - but it has been kept on the side of caution for safety, it probably could run more boost than standard, but i would expect the ignition system would need to be updated.

Cheers for the response. I've often wondered what power gains cars of that era would gain by junking the standard ecu and putting something more modern on.
Mmm something to think about for the LC me thinks
Nope must resist.....

the car also has an F1 high pressure fuel system i think you will find (besides the uprated bigger brake discs, pads & bodywork, which help to try & stop it AND keep it on the road!!) Mr B NotNormal said:

The trouble with trying too gain too much power out of what is a 20 years old engine is the consequences that if something goes wrong then is is f*cking expensive. F40 engines not easy to come by and too much ECU reprogramming and other mods makes it more likely to go 'bang'.
Also unless the f40's are really used on track agressively then the diffenrence between 530 or 600bhp is immaterial. I know i am as quick if not quicker in a £20k caterham than the F40 because I can drive the caterham at 100% but with the F40 I always err on the side of cautious.

Wise words.
Which makes taking your F40 to someone you trust even more important.
Who knows what they may do to your car otherwise.
