Great pics, tried to PM you but your profile did not allow.
Missed you both Sunday - car was looking fantastic as ever!
Hope you had a good (dry) journey hame - we got very wet!
Decided to skip Sunday as not doing the track it would have been very boring. Got home about 2.15 p.m.
I have updated my profile to re-allow emails, I suspect when PH was upgraded it reset the email allowed to not.
If you must get caught in traffic on the M6, there is no better company.

[/URL]Hi Everyone,
I'd just like to give a big thanks to Carlo for organising the weekend (pity you couldn't organise the weather as well!!) and for the other Lambo owners 7 partners who made the northern trek and attended. We had a great time (even though my front discs are now shot!)and though the car was sliding about all over the place!
Trace and I stayed at Gleneagles last night, which was truly spectacular (and bloody expensive!!). The car managed to draw a crowd this morning on departure even though they must see those kind of cars up there all the time. The drive down to Gleneagles and back today was alot more sedate than the run up there as i was all maxxed out from two days of circuit action.
Roll on next year and some better weather!!
Andy.

I'll join Andy in thanking Carlo McCrindle (and the lovely Caroline) for hosting a great weekend.
Myself, Andy, Shoebag and the 'Mystery Diablo Owner', met up at Stafford Services with Lambochick and Derek in tow in the Smart (Diablo GT still temporarily off the road).
Best bit was when we left the M6 at Carlisle to join the A7. One of my all time favourite roads (though Scotland is full of fantastic drives), it is not for the faint-hearted. Plenty of blind crests and flat out bends, with little traffic to impede the flow. More Gallardo country than Murci/Diablo country though. The big fellas are just a little to wide for full commitment. The roads were damp and a little greasy. For those who live in cuckoo land, and still don't see the point of a 4WD supercar, rear drive only stuff would have been painfully slow on these roads. With grip being a constantly shifting factor, a 911 Turbo or well driven EVO/Scooby would have been equally at home as a G. A 360/430 or GT3/RS would have gone into a hedge backwards at the pace myself, Andy and Mystery Man were going (and before someone complains, I've spend plenty of time in all these so I do know what I'm talking about).
This is why I have a Gallardo. I live in the UK, where the weather and road conditions are far from ideal and the width of the road can change without notice. It really is the perfect tool for the job (though, as I've mentioned, a 911TT or EVO/Scooby make equal sense on our roads).
To anyone looking for proper driving roads, I can always recommend Scotland highly. The fact that the Scots are inherently more friendly than the English is just a bonus!

I know the roads you're talking about Mikey, I grew up in the Lakes ... Haven't managed to take a Diablo up there but took a GT3 up there which was superb
Cool!
For the benefit of any watching Porsche-philes, the GT3 is a superb car but is a lot more surface sensitive than the Gallardo. And that goes for the RS times ten!
The G will flatten out ripples and bumps that would definitely send the GT3 into a flap. On the roads we were on, a C4S would have made quicker progress than either the GT3 or RS, that's all.
Horses for courses, I know.

So what should I take up there, the Gallardo I've got at the moment or the 996 Turbo S

Oooh, that's a toughy.
If you know the road, the G will be quicker and more entertaining. If you don't, the Turbo will be more foregiving, not least because you can see where the hell you're going just that little bit easier because of the more elevated driving position (unless the seats are laid back like a MaxPower Nova).
I could argue that the Gallardo's power delivery is more of a help as well, but I think that depends on individual driving technique.
It's a nice dilema to have, though you do strike me as being commitment phobic, JW.
